I came across a reference to your project while looking up the video for the original version of Spore, mostly for nostalgic reasons and to solidify my hate for Electronic Arts(EA) and their subsidiaries when it comes to them taking great game concepts and ruining them entirely. Spore was a game I had originally anticipated not because of crappy cartoon gimmicks and pop culture references, but because it *genuinely* seemed like a revolutionary evolution and galactic simulator with limitless replay value. Naturally, that wasn't the case and Maxis... *cough* ..EA.. watered and simplified it down to such an extent that it seemed to be geared towards children and ultimately failed to hold my interest. You can imagine how disappointed I was!

Granted, I didn't sign up on these boards just to bash Spore, and while the game itself was botched I still think it had a great concept to begin with. This is what attracted me to Thrive, you see. It seems like an ambitious project with a core group of dedicated individuals willing to see it through to completion.

I'm willing to help in whatever capacity I can, and while I don't have extensive technical expertise beyond running my own website in the past as both a moderator and administrator, I am willing to put my networking and marketing skills to use and make as many people aware of this project as I can - in addition to offering monetary support, if necessary.

Cheers.

Welcome aboard Dante!

It's a daunting project, so its good to see another soul join the effort. However, marketing is not a tool we need at the moment. We first need to get the game off the ground and actually have a playable Microbe Stage ready. Also, as this is a non-profit venture for a free-to-play game monetary support is not needed or useful. I am pretty sure donations are the same, but I would wait for Scio or another higher ranking user to answer that.

Again, great to see you!
