Hey Thrive Community!
My name's Parker, and I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah. I discovered your project from /r/spore on Reddit and decided to come check it out. I'm a High School student (sophomore), and I have experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java, and the basics of C++. I would be more than willing to commit time to helping in any way I can to contribute to this project between school and work to see a game with the basic elements of Spore turn into an amazing, realistic simulation game.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I am also very qualified in the ways of creating music. I have 6 years of cello playing experience and an AP music theory class under my belt. Besides that I've been tinkering around with virtual music synthesis for around a year now. Sadly I have no work saved to this computer, but I will cook some rhythms up for ya'll that will be done by Saturday afternoon (UTC-time). Also on another negative note, I need a software upgrade badly. I'd like to get a FL Studio Producer Edition, but I just can't fork out $200. If my work is accepted widely by the community I might be more willing to cough out that kind of money. If there is a lead music director or similar, I would be more than happy to collaborate with him/her, due to my inexperience with C++.

EDIT #2: Couldn't sleep, not from excitement-- mostly insomnia, but my sample is on Soundcloud @ /meatand2veg (can't post hyperlinks yet sorry).

Welcome to Thrive meatand2veg!

It's great to see all the excitement you have. Programming and music composition are useful skills for the development. For other composers, there is Doggit and Oliveriver. I would recommend that you practice your C++, because that will become more and more important in the future. In the meantime, you are free to use your other known languages to help out with the current prototypes, make your own, or contribute ideas to any discussions with a programming perspective.

Look at how far we've come when people thought we'd get nowhere. Imagine how far we can go if we try to get somewhere.

If you want to compose music I suggest you contact Doggit, as he'll give you something to do. For a look at many of the themes already composed (including some of mine), visit this page:

Welcome to the jungle, Meat. I see they've sent you Doggit's way and told you to brush up on your C++, so I guess there's not much left for me to add.
