I'm not sure that any of you remember me, especially since I was never really one who contributed much, but I have been "on" this team since the beginning, even when we were still under sven. I eventually dropped off contact with this team because I saw little progress being made. I was already wavering a lot, but redstar leaving was the nail in the coffin for me.

I recently found a reddit post that linked me to /r/thrive. I thought this project died, but not only is it alive, its thriving(pardon the pun). I'm glad to see the project slowly garnering a good amount of support. I wish you all luck in continuing this trend.

My previous reintroduction posts have me promising to help, to actually try making a difference. I won't do that this time. I feel like I would not keep this promise, maybe once you have something that resembles your microbe stage animation, but not now. As of now, I probably could not help you too much anyway as my skill set lies in 3D modelling, which does not seem to be happening as of yet. It is possible that you may see me pick up activity on the forums, but I can not give you too many promises. I tend not to keep them as far as this project goes. :/

Thank you Revolutionary Games for keeping this dream alive, may you Thrive,
Falthron

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement Falthron. 3D modelling actually is something of use now since the code has reached a point where models for the game are necessary, so if you can fit time for it, the work would be well appreciated. It's good to see a member from so long ago in the project's history. What reddit post was it, may I ask?

It was an AskReddit post in the Thread "What is a great concept for a video game that has never been properly explored (or at least not for a long time)" http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1qj17f/what_is_a_great_concept_for_a_video_game_that_has/

Here's the exact post: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/1qj17f/what_is_a_great_concept_for_a_video_game_that_has/cddbdtw

It has been so long since I had even heard mention of Thrive that I was completely taken aback by its reference on Reddit to be honest. So I looked into it and lo and behold here you guys were. Still alive and kicking.

As far as 3D models I've looked at the fairly neglected graphics part of the forum. Unfortunately most of that content is far, far away I would imagine. But looking at the new cell stage animation, I imagine I could cook up some organelles fairly easily. The shapes used are fairly simple, so if that's what you feel you need I'll happily work on it. But before I go further with that I need to ask you what file you are looking for. I've taught myself how to use the programs Autodesk Maya (I own the student version) and Lightwave (I'm taking a course on it). But if you need me to use Blender to avoid legal drama, I would need to play around with it a bit before I can figure out how to use the tool. I would prefer to use Maya but that's up to what you decide would be the better program.
