Hi, I am conner_the_slayer and I am simply a person looking to help create what is surely to be one of the best ever.
I am interested in and (I'm probably being a little modest here) quite good at graphic art, not so much with pencil and paper as on my laptop. I use software such as Terragen 3, Daz Studio and Vue 2014. I am also interested in programming and creating my own games for PC using CryEngine 3 and Unity Engine. I am currently (as I type this, in fact) trying to create my own game engine using a combination of Javascript and C++, two extremely useful programming languages.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Basically I would love to create concept art for this game and I am also extremely intrigued to what engine you are using for this game and how you created it.

I also know Oliveriver, who kind of introduced me to this and how awesome it is to be here (it is truly, awesome).

I am hoping that our team shall make one of the greatest and most popular games of all time and then go onto make lots more afterwards.

Welcome to Thrive Conner!

Modelling and the likes will be very useful with the work on the Microbe Stage and beyond, so its good to see you are good at that. Programming will help as well, but from what I've heard it's probably more efficient for people new to programming who want to help with Thrive to go for Lua, since much of the game will also be written in Lua and it is a far simpler language.

Welcome!

We are using our own custom game engine written in C++ which was constructed from a couple of libraries: Ogre for rendering, bullet for physics, luabind for lua-C++ integration and soon-to-be openAL for sound; all of which was brought together in an Entity-Component design to create our engine!
It's largely stable but we keep adding functionality to it as we need.

I'm interrested in how you are combining C++ and javascript if you want to share

Hi Conner! I haven't posted here yet as I haven't really had time, but I suppose I should at some point seeing as I actually know you in real life.

Concept art so far mainly consists of images of animals, such as this and this. Something like that would be a good place to start, although something more useful would be to actually create "screenshots" from the game at a later point, which will hopefully give the programmers and other art creators something to aim for.
