Hello!  I'm Ben, and I discovered this project a few days ago (when I was searching for something along the lines of an evolution simulation game), and I would love to get involved in it!  As I'm a high school student (junior year), so I haven't yet been to college (I'm planning on earning a BS in Biological Sciences followed by a PhD in Evolution & Ecology), the skills I have to offer primarily include modeling and texturing.

My portfolio can be viewed at: benamend(dot)carbonmade(dot)com  (I've attempted to attach a few of the images to this post as well).  Note that although it consists of final, polished renders with high-poly models and whatnot, I have created lower-poly game models before as well (I just haven't had any way to utilize them since I don't know much at all about programming, other than a sliver of Python).

I hope I can help in some way with these things, and I look forward to all further developments on this amazing project!

Very nice portfolio you got there! We would definitely love to have your modelling skills on board here at thrive.
Just like you mentioned, the models right now required are low poly count, and I would check out this thread.
A lot of the stuff there is TBD, so feel free to start discussing ideas there and posting up drafts. The art department seems to be building momentum so I wouldn't be surprised if suddenly there's a large need for some organelle and microbe models. So keep your eyes peeled.
Also, if Main Menu design fancies you, there's also this thread. Feel free to post any ideas you have for that thread as well!
As far as programming and art is concerned, the programmers will pretty much give you a hand whenever you need it, so dont hesitate to ask a question, the Mods here are really fast to reply and get it sorted out ASAP.

Welcome to Thrive Ben!

Skills in modelling and texturing will be greatly useful. As chef said, that link is where we discuss what art assets to make next and post the final results. I would recommend that if you want to get involved in the art development you head on over there and we could start working on different art assets for the game.

The examples you posted look amazing, and I just put them in spoilers so they wouldn't take up too much space.

Great to have you on the team!

Look at how far we've come when people thought we'd get nowhere. Imagine how far we can go if we try to get somewhere.
