I'd like to help

Hello! I've been following Thrive for a while and I'm really liking where it's going. I think I can contribute because I am very good at biology and I have a few ideas for multicellular and aware stages,which I noticed is starting to be discussed again. I am also good at geography if that comes in handy. Additionally, I am very good at English if , I don't know, anything needs writing up accurately. Finally, I am good at drawing (although I've been told that's not helpful.

I am planning to learn 3d modelling when I get a new computer and maybe some basic programming. Thank you.

Unfortunately, simply saying you're good at something isn't really useful, because definitions for good can differ wildly, and it's likely you'll need very detailed knowledge in order to contribute as a science adviser. Do you have any sort of proven knowledge in biology or geography which might help?

As for the subjects themselves, biology is hugely important for Thrive (it's the whole point of the first three stages, after all). Geography might be useful, but only in specific circumstances much further down the line (such as terrain generation). Writing will definitely be useful (we're currently short of anyone dedicated to it), as it'll be used for part descriptions, promotion and explanations of game mechanics.

If you are willing to learn modelling and programming that'd be great, but you'll need to be quite good at them before you can contribute much, so it might take a while for you to be much help.

Well, the only proof of my knowledge I can think of is that I got an A* in biology and English Lit in my recent GCSE results if that's what you mean. Admittedly, I got an A for Geography but I usually do a lot better, especially out of an exam.

I am very passionate about nature and evolution and have become quite knowledgeable on the subject. As for the writing, what should I do?

The game will take a few years to make and I thought that if I start to learn 3d modeling and programming it will eventually come in use. But I have other ways I can contribute now.

You have to join the developer usergroup to get permission to post. Submit by clicking on usergroups at the top of the page, select the deveoper usergroup and click view details to be put on the list of people wanting to join that group. People that qualify are added the the groups they submitted to are added every so often.
