Hello Revolutionary Games.

First of all, I am REALLY excited for your game. From what I've heard it sounds really promising and it has the potential to become "The spore that never was" (Looking at you EA, for making Will Wright change everything to fit a younger fanbase) I really want to help your team (although I can't code and I'm not THAT good with the pencil, -mind you I'm only fifteen-) by giving some suggestions.

1. Flight physics or aerodynamics. For example: you've designed a creature with wings and its head is bulky and non-aerodynamic, it'll affect the maximum forward speed velocity. (Will this be hard to code?)

2. Being able to domesticize creatures. E.g. for using them as pets or steeds.

3. Designing your own AI. With sliders. (Look at the game "From the depths")

4. Being able to design parts of vehicles. For example, you want to design a fin-like wing for an airship, much like the ones you see in a lot of airships, with a few wooden rods that are moving in a wave-like motion. you'll need to (in the vehicle editor) use rods of wood, cloth, gears and a power source to make it all move. Probably will be a hell to code.

5. Destructible terrain. E.g for making caves (to make an underground city?) and such.

6. Naturally generated caves. (Or even the possibility to start in one of them and become an underground civilization?)

7. Ocean-related stuff. No need to get to land, after the microbe stage for example air could be trapped under a naturally occuring rock formation, eliminating the need to get to land. Plants and small animals could evolve in these bubbles. This will also make civilization on water worlds possible.
underwater caves, falling back on point 6, could also trap oxygen.
or a creature could take oxygen(or other gas) into its body and transport it down to the depths where it lives.
Thermal vents, spewing out resources that are normally scarce.

8. Plate tectonics.
Plates will be generated, and the engine will ensure that they move properly, and that volcanoes, mountain ranges and thermal vents will form at the right places.

That's pretty much it, I hope my suggestions are useful!

So I wrote a long reply shooting down almost all of your suggestions (not plate tectonics, that's a good enough idea that I'm already working on a prototype), but I've decided to delete it and just tell you to take your suggestions to the subreddit. Not your fault for posting here, imean, we haven't closed this forum yet; but the subreddit is where this stuff should generally go nowadays.

The main problem with your suggestions is that you've posted a bunch of requirements for features that would fit your fancy, but absolutely nothing that would help us actually implement them. Not really your fault, after all, you did apologize for not being able to give more helpful suggestions.

I'll leave this thread open so we can discuss, not your suggestions (those go on the subreddit) but how you can make better ones. It probably isn't that hard; you could start by googling some articles that back your points and explain why they're important (for example, an article talking about underground civilizations, or something), or even articles or research papers that would help us figure out how to implement some idea (for example, an article on in-game AI customization). But it would be a lot of work to do that for every point; so you can fix another mistake you made: don't shotgun lots of suggestions at us, but do your research, make a good case, and present it along with your research. Capisce?

Of course, of course! Yeah I didn't know about the Reddit page, sorry about that. What I meant to do was just throwig ideas out there that the team perhaps overlooked or simply didn't think of. I'll try to back up my ideas with articles and researches next time I post anything. Thanks for replying!

Hey man, you're awesome. You were excited, I shot you down crabbily, and you took it with grace.

The thing about loads of ideas is that we're often not in a position to implement them for a long time; so there's not much of a conversation we can make without just talking uselessly. Luckily, there's the subreddit for all that "useless" conversation.
