Hello! I've been following Thrive for awhile, and now that the main site has been updated (even though it's currently down at the time I am typing this) I would very much like to join.

I have a few concepts that I whipped up in the last few weeks right here, just to give you an idea of where I'm at in designing things:
Concept Art:

Edit 2/12/15: Ok, got the sites working! I have 4 variations of the Multi-Cellular Editor, one set to the Build tab and the rest on "Admire". This is because I want to be able to have other people's inputs on each part, then come up with some final concepts.

Interests

Creatures
Because creatures are AMAZING! (the main reason I am wanting to join the project)

Space
Ah, the beauty of the Cosmos.

Math
Really? No one else? How sad...

Art
The best things in my hands: a stylus, and a drawing tablet. Or a piece of paper and pencil. Mechanical pencil. You know what I mean.

Genetics/Biology in General
Because genes, chromosomes, and the DNA itself are the key to pretty much anything animal-related. And plants. Can't forget about our little green friends, can we?

Mind-Blowing Theories
The fact that every single star that you see has a system of planets of its own and life is pretty normal to me. That and the fact that every tiny dark space you see, even in the clearest night, has at least 10,000 galaxies. I don't even want to touch Time; things get pretty weird... Moving on, then!


As of now, I am a Sophomore in high school. I am planning to get into programming classes so that I can get more involved with making the game.

I would be extremely honored to be apart of the team, especially when, in a few years, this game will be the most amazing thing ever made!

These look fantastic! I'm looking forward to their potential implementation in the future. There should also be a "skeletal", "organ" and maybe "skinning" tab as well as a "Test Drive" button.

The four main tabs, as you can see, are Behavior, Build, Paint, and Texture. Skinning would be apart of the texture, organs would be part of behavior, and skeletal could be apart of Build and Behavior. I'll make a word doc of how the behavior tab could work, knowing there hasn't been much thought into it. But thanks for the feedback!

Ok, got a bit of the Behavior Editor stuffs:

Behavior Editor Essentials:

Other blocks, such as actions and parts to do said actions, will be created by the player or automatically created when a certain part is placed on the creation. What you see in the spoiler are the essentials that the player can play around with, linking other sections and loops to do awesome things.

Also, it's important that the player be able to make their own triggers that are specific to their creation, just in case the list given does not apply to their creation.

What's cool is, this can be used for any editor; cell, multicellular, vehicle, etc. Of course, what's presented is intended for creatures, be it unicellular or multicellular.

Nice. By the way, what's the difference in your criteria for passive and neutral things?
Also, I'm no programmer but I don't think it will be easy to allow the player to create new triggers, as you put them.

This list will also definitely have to be fleshed out but well done for starting.

The way that I've done it, passive involves things that are done all the time, or most of the time. Neutral things aren't done all the time, but since they aren't offensive or defensive or an ability, they're just neutral.

Hopefully the player won't have to make new triggers, but it's just a thought.
