Why would that be a good thing? We'd just have two modes that do the same thing, just in one you can't control yourself.

If you want to see what the AI of your creature did, instead of having to control its every action.

Sensory overlay could be used in both third and first, and I think in Observer mode you should be completely free to use it whenever you like.

Could the sensory overlay include the ultra-violet and x-ray 'filters' I sometimes mention? Of course that's only when the appropriate research and tech is researched and built.

I don't understand why we can't just use the sensory overlay system that we've always intended on using. You see what the creature can sense. That means with their heads where their heads are, their feet where their feet are, and everything else according to how everything else is.

But what if they have eyes all around their head?

And.. waait for it, waaait for it, that's where the paradox sets in.

Anyway, I'd like to know the specifics, how this works. It sounds like it'd only work in 1st person.
If you had eyes all around your head, you'd probably have uberquake360ultranoscopes field of view. It would Belgium with your head and may induce vertigo, but that would be the downside of having ALL THE EYES.

Try not to necropost, this thread is two years old.
