Also known as djohaal got bored with powerpoint.

Spoiler:
This quick setup was made based on my memory from lovelock's gaia (I have it on my bookcase!) and what I think would be relevant for a game to work properly.

The biggest problem I found with this biome-centered model is how to implement the feedback of planet-scale changes into the evolution of animals and plants, and how those would influence on the qualities of the biomes themselves. The probelm lies that qualitatively the data works itself upwards (animals and plants influence how biome works, and biome influences planet) however when the feedback goes "downards" back to biomes and animals it is pretty much quantitative. The planet simulation will redistribute biomes as the variables such as rainfall and temperature change, but how would it influence the evolution of animals and plants?

At this current theoretical step the biomes work pretty much as enclosed, stactic glass domes that get shuffled around as the planet simulation progresses, but I haven't accounted for how would evolution influence on such progression. This model needs working.

I put that in a spoiler box to save people from scrolling if they don't need to.
That looks like a pretty good base for the system. This is the borderline between evolution for planets and organisms, so it really needs to work.

Yes the biggest difficulty is that how auto-evo would work. Since we are so cloudy on such aspect, that part of the design is problematic.

We really don't want to deal with it until we have a platform to test it on.
