Hello Thrive community!

I found this project a few weeks back, and I'm quite impressed at the idea. This is definitely an ambitious project, and you have collected a good bit of talent so far.

I'm also glad I found you when I did, from what I can tell you are still in the conceptual stage, and this is pretty much the only time I would be of any use. While I don't have any programing or modeling skills, I design tabletop games as a hobby. I've done everything from tactical space combat to a Steampunk war game, and I'm currently working on a full on roleplaying game.

Anyway, designing tabletop games isn't really all that different from designing video games, only with tabletop games you aren't limited by what is programmable or not. Just hearing about this game got the game designer in me going, I've had concepts flying through my head for every stage you have planned out, and I’m working on writing those out in an organized manner at the moment. Also, once we get past early development, I'm a pretty good writer. I know it’s not much, but I can write out technology trees, descriptions, events, and background/setting information.

Hope I can be of some help to this great project!

Oh, also, do you guys have a Design Document yet? If you do I would love to see it.

Well, that Wiki is pretty sparse, at this stage that isn't really a problem though.

I'm even happier I found this project when I did, this early conceptual stage is when I can do the most good.

I'm putting the finishing touches on my Evolution system concept, I'll probably be able to post it tonight.

Welcome, Smoth! Keep in mind that we don't want to go too far away from realism. Also, unless if you're a programmer, i'd stay away from proposing anything for the evolution system (We call it Auto-Evo). Prior to christmas there was a large, fiery discussion on how we can do Auto-Evo, if at all. Head to this thread if you really think your ideas could work.

Yes, I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and understand the project direction. I noticed the discussion on the evolution system after the post on the IndeDB profile. Thats the main reason I chose conceptualizing for the Evolution system first, that is the most important feature of the game and should be the first thing to be concrete. I skimmed through that thread, and the other "Evolution in gameplay" one, from what I can tell Auto-Evo is out, unless I missed something. I was just finishing writing out my Evolution concept based on that when you posted, I'm going to go ahead and post it in the Evolution forum. Check it out if you wish, it will be up within the next ten-twenty minutes.

I wouldn't be any help in PR, my talent is game design not marketing.

If you mean as in advertisements, then no, I'm terrible at promoting my own work. They all have rulebooks/manuals however, though I don't always fully complete them.

Currently PR/Outreach is explaining how the game works, as we currently have the "rules" and some concept art for show and tell. My bad at not explaining it, I suppose. What I meant was, have you written up the rules or strategy guides or stuff that is part of the game? (Not necessarily advertizing.) Obviously you just answered that.
