We don't generally know how exactly how much is done, that lurks in the deep, dark code repository. All we know is, there's some of the engine done (we should be using the same engine for the whole game, by the way) and the menu.

If any playable part of the game does come out, I'm sure there will be a Devblog about it. Not just a link in a conversation in someone's welcome thread where no-one will find it.

Although, for how much of the game is done... Well, it depends. We'll never really be finished. I suppose that would translate as 0%. That does sound sort of bad though, so let's not translate that, and just erase our memories of it.

That's the only progress that I know of, but I can't code.

Will there be procedural movement? and You won't need to upgrade Your creature by getting better parts like in Spore right? Cuz that would suck...a lot if You had to upgrade like that.

I'm stupid when It comes to the very complicated science, though I do My research, not for school, but because Science is My life, and I want to be an astronaut when I grow up, and help spread life all over the universe, or atleast in our solar system. *) Happy tear.

Let me refer you to the OE concept. It's in the bar over to your right, and to save me a lot of typing, it contains pretty much all your answers, including the one about evolotion being a function of a heck of a lot of choices, not mix'n matching. Any terminology questions can be addressed later.

Also duckling, that was an old post. Way back in December I updated this thread to tell people how much of the conceptual work for our planets had been done, which is the cryptic numbers that you see.

The answers to all your questions are on the wiki. Also, you can avoid double and triple posting by using the editing button on your old post. Save our inboxes, okay?

Would be nice if the teamleads were to visit this page here and there and post a comment about the progress on their topic so I can update the charts and visitors will know just where we are at. It can also be very useful for us.

You see, the thing is that it's not that easy to spit out an arbitrary percentage for gauging how much we have done, for the fundamental reason that a project like this has no denominator. New concept is added whenever we think of it. Therefore this must apply to the code, which is something that is more clearly incomplete or complete. However, not enough code has been completed to be able to make such an estimate.

A better list would be one that lists what has been coded, what needs to be coded, and what needs mire concept. That's exactly what the Microbe Stage Progress Report is for. Or it could be a thread that outlines the steps that need to be taken to create the Microbe Stage, in terms of code, but that is also already a thread (Building Microbe Stage).

My idea of progress is how much the game is playable. if microbe stage is 100% for example it means that the main coding etc has been completed and it is now playable. Noting that things are constantly being added to it.
