Hello there.

I've heard about this project a very long time ago, but was sceptic, so I never really followed it that closely, up until now, when scociont was posting on the spec evo board. So I decided to join and see what I can do to help.

About myself: I had a programming course at school, so I know the basics, but I doubt it's enough to be some serious help for the coders. Right now I am studying games design and games art, so I could help out with game-play related stuff, organization and 2D/3D stuff.

Right now I am kinda lost. I guess I'll go check out the wiki in the meantime. Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! It's nice to see that my promoting worked. Read the OE CC on the wiki if you haven't.

Welcome! It's normal to be lost at first, but the wiki should cover most of that, and the FAQs are good to check out too. If you have any other minor points you wish to confirm, for organisational purposes, we have a thread for miscellaneous bugs and questions that don't deserve their own thread; it's called the 'miscellaneous bugs and questions don't deserve their own thread thread'.

That should just about cover it... Oh, and if you're into that sort of thing, you can 'publicly recommend' Thrive on Google by adding 1 onto it, up at the user box on the top left of the page. Thrive+1, that's bad mathematics.

Welcome! I'm not entirely sure where to direct a lost person, but if you trawl through enough threads, starting with the announcements section of course, then you should find something that interests you soon enough. Hopefully you can be more help than you think. See ya round.

My goodness! We've attracted a programmer!

Most everyone else has said what needs to be said, but at the moment our lead programmer seems to be taking a leave of absence, so you may have to wait a while before you can check in with him. The last time we spoke, he was busily constructing the game's engine itself, and would be eager to touch base with anyone with even minor programming experience.

Outside that, helping us build programs to test our concepts outside the game engine would be incredible and invaluable. We come up with a lot of stuff, and a trained eye to help us sort the wheat from the chaff would do wonders.

Welcome aboard.
