Hello Everybody,

Thrive was posted to my sub-reddit (reddit.###com/r/Simulate)

Which was founded on the original premise I pieced together in my blog.

Again, I was severely disappointed by Spore, Civ5 is getting boring and Paradox games require too much clicking.

My background is astronomy, physics, mathematical programming, SQL, analytics in Excel. I'm pretty busy in life and work-work though.

That said, I think Thrive and the /rSimulate project have common goals. I don't know if Thrive intends to be open source or free to play, but I think a complex enough simulation would be very useful in marketing and that commercial licenses or enterprise solutions like Red Hat or similar use... Would be the way to turn big profit. Also, despite the backend being open source, having game modes running the front end could still be sold to consumers.

Anyway, that's the angle I think a project like this should take, and it's the direction I'm steering /r/Simulate. Merging work might be useful, but even if the whole projects stay seperate, sharing sources of mathematical modeling of behavior might be useful for both parties. A research-agreement if you will.

I am a team lead of the strategy mode, the mode of the game that I think pertains most to what Simulate seems to me to be about.

Hey, welcome. I'll be sure to check out your community, since it seems like the best thing on the entire internet. Mathematical simulation and applied mathematics are two of my personal biggest interests, so I'd be happy to share anything and everything with you guys.

I like the look of your project. it seems to be focus on civilisation specifically, but it is very ambitious. If this was merged with Thrive, and they actually reached completion one day… I don't think anyone would need to get another game ever again!
