| hey everyone
it's been a long time since i was involved in Evolutions.......or i guess now Thrive. I've now chosen my future career of being a 3d modeller so i hope to get some practice done on Thrive before i make it to the big leagues. I hope to be as much help as i can on this game.
P.S. I've only just started downloading some free 3d modelling programs and hope to start today.

| It's always good to see new members, esp those willing to learn technical skills. If you need help modeling, i'm pretty good with Sketchup. | |

Thanks for the warm welcomes I'm not exactly sure what you should work on- since we have editors for just about anything, not a lot of our stuff will be pre-modeled. I'd say get a lot of practice in polygonal modeling for the moment.

| sounds good to me. What about pre modelled vegetation, like trees, so the player doesn't have to make their own at first, if we have a vegetation editor. | |

Vegetation will be handled in the Organism Editor. The plants will not be pre-modelled. They will evolve just as any creature would.

What you could do is look into possible bases for our tech editor. We basically need a free 3d program that is modifiable, easy to use, and has many pre-built assets. I chose sketchup for my top pick.

| How easy is it to use? We need an average person to be able to pick it up and make something really cool with it, really fast. | |

| well....... that's a good question....... i haven't tried it yet but it looks quite easier than blender. They also have helpful tutorial viedeos and one has to do with creating a scary fishy thing with all the programs tools. I've been quite busy on vacation, but i'll try to see what i can do on the laptop.
Now i haven't been following for a year so i was wondering what the the tech editor would be about?

Tech editor is for creating technology- building weapons, any sort of technology you could think of, from a pencil to a spaceship. It will have "function parts" such as engines, hydraulics, computer chips o that the player can make technology with those things.
