As i said, a better brain could unlock diferent actions like using sticks or rocks as weapons. In exange, a bigger brain requires more energy to create descendants, requires more energy to keep going, and is a bigger objective as a target.

For brain calculations, we can use this:
All creatures are required to have a brain that weights 1/10 of their mass (or a simular figure) any mass over that is translated into more inteligence. Less means slower movement, or reactions.

Thats all i got on brains. Maybe someone else can come up with a better idea.

I have an Idea:

Have you heard of bf skinner?
I think we can use this as a model so some dumb things, (always going somewhere before hunting because when they did that the first time they got a good kill.) are actually perfectly natural. In this case organisms learn for members of there own species (usually) and from members of other species sometimes. And from there own situations (even if what they learn is lillogical) due to what we call superstition. (which non-sentient creatures do as-well)

check out this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6zS7v9nSpo so you can see why that is natural.
I believe we should keep this as easy to program as possible (or at least keep it fast) so I like Daniferrito's idea as-well. Maybe we can combine them.
If we take superstition and learning into effect the world will be MUCH more realistic (we need to have learning if we want this simulation to result in realistic situations anyway) like creatures hunting in specific locations because there is alot of food there and herbivores running from the creature that killed something in front of it, etc.We could also 'cheat' to make this happen without the extra AI, but doing the AI could result in realistic unexpected things we didnt even think about. (and I like that)

Dani, with the AI model we have right now, is it possible to have species specific behaviours?
