| It's me, alduin2013, back from the break like a bomerang.
Sadly, i have not yet learned a programming language, however, i have got the apllication blender, so i can make some things when i get the hang of it. I just need to learn how to make things symetrical, which has been an issue for me to overcome. When i do, i feel i can contribute by making concept models for future references.
Also, can i ask what i have missed over the days? I heard the microbe stage has been made already, if thats true, then we can make some improvements from there. I can also help with creature concepts if you wish me to do so, again, when i get the hang of blender.
P.S. I have finally found a name for my own creature when we finish the multicellular stage. I decided on the name Neosaurus diablos (meaning new lizard devil) what do you think? cachty eh?
P.P.S. feel free to give me ideas for conept creatures, parts, etc. I wont animate them yet, since im only starting, but i can sculptt it once i get the hang of it.
Feels good to be back. And with new purpose too.

| Hey, welcome back! So, to make objects symmetric, use the ''Mirror-Modifier''. The modifiers are on the right, just look for a wrench. Click on it, then add modifier and look for mirror. After you clicked mirror (or any other modifier), a small menue will show up where you can custmoize the modifier. But before you use the mirror-modifier you have to delete half of your object to save polys and to prevent bugs. And you should apply the modifier before you unwrap your object for texturing if the texture will be asymmetrical. For creating textures I use Mapzone2 http://www.mapzoneeditor.com/ , for texturing I prefer Gimp http://www.gimp.org/ If you got more questions pm me or add me in Skype or ICQ. I've got about a year expierience with Blender, so if you got a question I can always help
PS: Right now I'm busy so I cannot help out with modeling a lot because I'm working for a modding group.

| Thanks M3rox. I think from there, i can make some good models.
I was thinking of making concept art for my organism, as well as concept models for future references when we start doing the multicellular stage.
when you have the time, can you help with modeling as well? we can show each other our models and collaborate. Also, Is it a good idea to use metaballs first when you make the models?
get back to me when u can.
P.S.: Does anyone have a job for me? I would love to model some things when i have the time. I want to feel involved in this project.

| Cooperating is a good idea. Just pm me when you have time. You should use metaballs only for organic looking models and they shouldn't be too complicated. But the most time I use Mesh(es?) with high polys, edit them in sculpt mode and then lower the number of polys. And when I activate smooth rendering it looks quite organic I remember that somewhere was a list with needed models but I cannot find it | |

| Thanks for the tip.
I was also working on a model for my concept organism. Still needs work. I know this belongs in the concept race page, but Heres what i thought out:
Organism name: Mud-squid
Bio: vaugley resembling a squid, save for the fact it lives an amphibious life, the Mud squid lives much like a mudskipper from earth, save for the fact that it is venomous. they come to land to breed, and breath using a sac full of water, which contains internal gills, so it can breathe on land, to some extent, it will later evolve to a more terrestrial lifestyle.
Thats what i got, more editing soon. What u think?
