The 'Studio Name'

I think we decided on a studio name, but should we use it, or is it just a bad idea? I can't remember exactly what it was, but I'm trying to find that thread on the Evolutions! forums, and can't find it. Might have been deleted. Can anyone else remember what it was, or have a link to the thread?

It was Eosoft Productions wasn't it?

Uhhh... a studio name= copyright= money. Plus, if we get one and don't copyright it, someone could use it, copyright it, and sue us.



When the game's starting up, where there would normally be a studio's name and logo, we should just have a LOLcat, and say TEH INTANETZ.

@YB: Yes, I remember we came up with that name in order to satisfy people wanting Eos as our project name.


@Invader: Studio name equals our Team name, something every development team should have, and if we want it a little more original Thrive Development Team, then we have to think about something.

Also, who would sue us? It's not like it would bring him any significant money, and it would eat much of his time. You know, time == money.

Every game, freeware or not, has development team and ever dev team has a name.

I like Eosoft. Maybe a tagline aling the lines of 'A New Dawn', considering Eos was the Greek Titan Goddess of the dawn.

Love the tagline, hate the name. I'd rather just have Eos. If not, Eos group, Eos team, whatever, just not Eosoft. Sounds horrible.

And the main problem is that it's already taken. Same with Eos group, Eos team, Eos development. So, what about Eos designers?

Then again, I have no suggestions so.. yeah.

why does every eos name get taken? how about Eco studios or something along those line since every eos is already taken or to similar/

Really, really no. I think Gaea Games would be better. Google searches for them just come up with some online game called 'Gaea'. Gaia Software is something to help you install some kind of printer, and Gaia Games returns too many results.

Gaea Games sounds good to me.

yep, i remember back in the day, eos was all they ever wanted. but gaea games sounds cool to.

Gaea sounds too... earth-centered. If we are trying to create alien worlds, why would we name ourselves earth?
