| Hello everyone!
I'm Maxtorm, I'm a gamer and biology enthusiast, and since finding this game-in-progress I've been able to think of almost nothing else. My parents encouraged me to learn from a very young age, so I have a good understanding of biology and genetics and the physics that allow our own and other bodies to work, and while I don't code I do have plenty of ideas for biology. I'm going to be making some long lists very soon.
I also do composing, and while I don't have a particularly amazing music setup at the moment, I will soon, and would love to contribute at some point. In fact, I already have some ideas based around a theme or two I've heard.
I look forward to helping out as much as I can, and (hopefully) being able to contribute in a more meaningful way than just being here.
EDIT: I can in fact do spriting! I'm not super talented at it, but I can do it, and practice makes perfect.
Well, I look forward to talking with everyone! -M/R-

Hope you like miasma.
What do you think about what the developers made so far? Indev 0.2.2 and all that?

What do you think about what the developers made so far? Indev 0.2.2 and all that? Seems pretty good as a basis, although seeing as it was released two months ago I'm assuming they've already got some improvements. I honestly don't like the way you collect the cell parts and the way that chemicals spawn off of larger versions, it's very easily exploited in an unrealistic way. But I'm sure it's just a proof of concept-type deal. I'm really looking forward to getting my arts in working order to try and collaborate, but I'm worried that as you say, the miasma is thick here...

Don't worry, they're planning on replacing the popping chemicals with clouds of them that you swim through. The miasma thing was just a Boatmurdered reference. "So the merchants arrive to see blood and vomit everywhere, us hauling corpses en masse to the graveyard, a couple rampaging elephants. WELCOME TO [BELGIUMMING] BOATMURDERED! Hope you like miasma!"— StarkRavingMad

Now that does sound quite a lot better, because otherwise the most effective cell is just a trawler with chambers holding those big chemicals and enough cilia to move when you wanna. A trawler will still be most useful it sounds like, coupled with whatever defense mechanism you need. Much better though. Also, sadly I'm not as well read as I'd like to be.

I'm still not the expert on what they're going to do, so I think either reading into topics concerning the matter, or asking the forum leaders directly would both do well.

Mkay, I've already got to look through all the features anyway, in case there becomes a way I can help with one, but thanks for the tips

| Welcome to the forum Maxtorm!
Ideas can help to a degree but don't really substantiate to any of the development currently taking place. What would help more at the moment is composition and art. I don't think we are using sprites though, the art we need is more 3D models and GUI elements.

Mkay, that's what I thought as well but I had a short conversation with 'WJacobC' on reddit (assuming you know them) in which spriting was mentioned, and I mentioned I could do it. He asked if I'd put that in my intro and so I added it. Sadly I have no knowledge of 3d modeling, and I'm not sure what you'd need in the way of GUI but if you think I might be able to help let me know. I know I'm one in a million at this point, so I won't take it personally if you say no. That said I can also do music! So if that's a thing you want more peeps for, I'd love to help. I also do a little drawing, but it would be very fan-art-y, and I doubt it would be helpful. :/

I'm the person to talk to if you're interested in getting into composing. The microbe stage soundtrack has been finalised (and can be listed to here), so we've moved on to microbe sound effects and the multicellular stage, although the odd theme for any other stage is welcome if you have trouble composing something in an appropriate style.

| Well the Microbe's soundtrack is never complete, per se, it's just that for the moment new tracks won't be added immediately but incrementally.

| Hi and Welcome Maxtorm! About the GUI, it's being discussed on this thread, and it's currently about finishing the GUI for the microbe stage. You could always check it out and see if there's anything that you can do to help. | |

Okies, do you have a list of noises you need, or is anything 'cellular-sounding' good? I've also had some ideas for some kind of tribal-style vocal stuff, but I'm gonna make sure that it sounds good before I bother making offers. It's gotta sound right. Also as a matter of fact Oliver, I discovered this game partly by finding your channel. - Thriving Cheese wrote:
