| I beleive we have descided that certain situations will contribute to Research, my thoughts are that certain situations will contribute research toward ideologies. This thread is intended to discuss that.
Examples:
1. Having non-automated factories with very poor conditions for workers will contribute towards communism. (Note COMMUNISM, not STALINISM. There is a huge difference.)
2. Having numerous religious upheavals will contribute towards any "Elizabethan Compromise" type research. (Non-Earth specific name pending.)

How will we let the game understand why these things are happening? I need someone with more programming knowledge to let me know what is and isn't possible. By the way, it's good to see somebody else who knows the difference between Communism and State Capitalism

By the way, it's good to see somebody else who knows the difference between Communism and State Capitalism I don't think we would need the game to understand, just program the situations induvidually. It might be a more artificial solution, but it'd be much easier.

The thing there is that things that we haven't experienced here that may happen elsewhere are hard to think up. But i think you're right. This is going to be the only way we can know how it works. As for your examples, it doesn't have to have lots of factories. Any nation with bad worker happiness could get points towards Communism Research if it's available to them on the research tree.

I know, we'll just have to think hard. - US_of_Alaska wrote:

Good point. I was thinking too Marxian. Thanks.

Good point. I was thinking too Marxian. Thanks. If you have a bit of time now, get on the new chat on the front page and we can discuss events that would add to these kinds of researches.
