| is it possible that there could be too many users?
what I mean is that now we have 95 users, what if we put up ads and they literily come flooding in and we have a few hundred if not a thousand users
would that be good or bad?

| I'd say bad, since this is a forum for DEVELOPERS, not rabid fangirls. Over a thousand ppl developing would bug the system so bad it'd fail before we make progress. | |

| We have 95 users, but consider how many of them are "ghosts" that just join and never post anything (in the better case). Imagine if all of them would be active members, we would be flooded.
Also, Darkgamma summs it pretty well.

| But as a certain percentage of people would probably be coders, a large influx of people wouldn't be 100% bad. | |

| In order to touch the code (that's change it, not read it) someone would have to open a sourceforge account, and I'd have to give them write access to the repository | |

| Only about 30 people have posted more than once or twice. | |

There have been times when I get preoccupied in real life, and simply can't contribute to online projects. This of course doesn't mean I dropped in, realized that it would be a while, and left. It just means that someone is busy. Nothing's more frustrating then returning to a project to find they've cast you out.

We have an 'on-leave' thread, is it possible for ADMIN to stop it being deleted if they have posted the amount of time, and reason?

| I know some forums allow you to "park" you account with no side effects. Talking about more members I beleive divulgation efforts would be productive, specially if we could find more coders interested. | |

| Maybe we should have a productivity meter that shows who is contributing the most content and ideas. But that's beside the point. I think the real danger is not much work getting done. Discussion is great but if we had a thousand people post their ideas we'd be flooded. We wouldn't want to get into a situation where we constantly change or add ideas because it would really frustrate those actually providing content. | |

Right now we can feel free to add or subtract anything as Bashi is the only coder and works on the engine right now, but you are right. We will have to finish all those concepts before anyone will start to work on them (plus, a thousand members on this forum would not be good. Imagine posting a new thread and then going through twenty pages of new responses).
