| A great way to get ourselves noticed is crowdsoucing, basically using our fans to get our work done faster, and get our name out more. We've decided we're probably going to use crowdsourcing for "template" organisms, and I've come up wit another area we could use crowdsourcing in: Biomes.
Let's face it, we'll need a lot of different possible biomes. So I'm saying we unleash our fans' imaginations and let them design some biomes for us. They'll love it, we'll love it. What do you all think?

| I suppose. In that case, it looks like it's time to gather an official group of good content hunters.
Also for Crowd Sourcing: TOs, Non-Player Nations, Music
Also also, I've been toying with the idea of holding official contests to see who can make the best *Blank* for when we finally get a few editors up. Thoughts?

| Could we possibly use crowdsourcing to get "starter creatures" for the computer to use? Like, release a simple org editor, have the creatures people make be uploaded to a data base, then have the computer place these simple organisms in the biomes their best suited for, then have auto-evo do the rest? It would make it easier on the computer, so that it doesn't have to evolve the cells from the cell stage into bigger organisms.
Also, 4chan could be a good place to help spread the word.

| It would probably work better in reverse, using the organisms as models for that niche to simplify evolution, especially when placing an organism in a niche, generating biomes or having a species move to a new niche. It might be possible to boil the organism down into simple enough data to work with, even if it's just taking the result of the speed calculations or whatever, though it would be nice to be able to copy entire features you'd probably end up with frankenstein organisms that way. | |

| I definitely like the idea of having contests. Perhaps we could also make particularly well-made sets available as download packs after the original release. | |

| Oh, like you did over on the sporum for the creature contests? Yes. This will be especially useful for complicated stuff like biomes - though we need to make enough variety ourselves that we know we haven't left out anything crucial. As soon as we get the editors out, I say we start them up. Or maybe a tiny bit after... I dunno, give it a month to get a little more popular so we don't just have the early adopters winning automatically. | |

| Make sure to provide them with the same criteria that we have over in the biomes thread - I am not going through and re-researching these things, or assigning random values to the invented ones.
