| Just thought everyone should read this, since it's been kind of slow on the forums. I realize there's a lot of work done, and everyone's really busy, so here's a sort of OT thread to discuss. Physics is broken. | |

| I saw this in my local newspaper today. Pretty amazing claim, and if they manage to validate it, it'll open up a whole new area of physics exploration. What happens when you break the speed of light? How does relativity fit in with all this? Etc, etc.
Exciting stuff, this is.

| Wow. And just in time for 2012.
But I hope if it does turn out to be correct, they'll make a much simpler theory... Like 'all space is time' or 'the universe is just a huge pie'. Or something that explains why physics exists, not just how it works.
...If this changes how we see physics, gives us a new perspective on our very existence and brings a whole new area of physics into being, if this changes the entire world as we know it... How much of our code will need changing? I hope not much... Why does science have to be timed so inconveniently?

To be fair, we've been working on this for so long that's it's probably not statistically unlikely for something like this to have happened :p It is rather cool, but i am still skeptical at this stage. I mean, even the scientists who found it are not convinced. And i should probably get started on more models before my exams start up...

| Hmm...
If this is true and CERN dosent find the Higgs-Bosonwithin the next year our view of physics is Belgiumed......
Back to the drawing board! xD

| Yeah. I mean, I'm still skeptical, but this is extremely exciting. And all this while they were trying to produce Tau neutrinos... | |

That's pretty bad... Ouch. Get well soon. My internet's currently broken, it takes about 5 minutes to load a page... But have ten minutes of my time anyway.

| Oops... Wow, a double post...
I suppose I should add some content now my internet is working again and I've noticed...
How about the story of how my internet started working again? Well, I went (over a period of five minutes) to the Virgin Media Support page to try and get the number, was looking around the site, and realised the links were loading very quickly. Tried going to another page... It loaded. It was working again! Now I can finally look at pezz'zz picture!
Makes you think though...

Ouch. Get well. I broke my radius and ulna once- extremely painful. @Uteen- I'm not even going to delete that double because that's how broken your internet is.

| We're having such fun at my college telling the physics majors that their degrees have been invalidated because of this...
Ouch. Get well soon, Bastian. Typing sucks one-handed (broke my finger as a kid when they were teaching us to type - I couldn't type properly for about four years after that. Also, it hurts.)
Wow, Uteen. You're giving my dorm building a run for it's money in the "broken internet" department.

| I have no real complaints to list. Maybe the slowness of my transition? Eh. Doesn't matter here. Back to work.
More on topic, have we descided what ftl will be included?

More on topic, have we descided what ftl will be included? Eh. I really want to focus on org/cell stuff now. Like completely.

| By the time we figure out the org/cell stuff, the physisists will have decided what to do about FTL, anyway. | |

| I hate to be the one raining on our little parade here, but they think it was a faulty optical fibre. I just got the news and they'll be testing their theory this may. |

Yeah, I read that a little earlier this week. Thank goodness that's all over.
