| note that bones are not the only option, it could have an exoskeleton or be a hybrid.... or maybe something else we're not remembering | |

"Bone" not only refers to a physical bone, it also refers to a concept in 3d animation. When I say bone, i mean both. a creature with an exoskeleton, or no skeleton whatsoever, will still have internal (internal as in used by the engine itself) unrendered bones.

I love arthropods, i'm glad you're making space for the planet's most successful phyla. is werkkzueg's procedural texure generation special, or is it just a specific procedural texture generator? Also remember that the ultimate goal is to have players able to change a bone with a few clicks, not by redefining variables in an algorithm.

Also remember that the ultimate goal is to have players able to change a bone with a few clicks, not by redefining variables in an algorithm. http://smeschini.altervista.org/iop/werkkzeug.jpg I guess you could say that werkkzueg is special, in that it is the only pogram of its kind. It really is difficult to explain. And i think you misunderstand me. I tend to write cryptic messages, as I just ramble the many things going on in my head The final goal is to make an easy to use editor for godmode or whatever yes, but the first editor ever isnt exactly going to be able to do that. And also, keep in mind that with flexibility comes complexity. If we have something more flexible than spores editor, it will be more difficult to use, we can't have our cake and eat it too. And i dont mean modifying the algorithms yourself. Spore used algorithms. Almost every program in history no matter hos simple uses an algorithm, as long as it has an input and output. Anyways, werkkzueg usesa model something like this: you have a bunch of blocks, and starting from the top block, you apply whatever is directly underneath it as you move down the block stack. (and i mean physical looking blocks that you drag and stuff) [draw a circle] [duplicate circle 10000 times] [apply noise] [wrap around cube] Now, i'm thinking more do this internally, with the ability to see the chain during debugging of the algorithms. Hopefully ill be able to come up with some sort of "click-n-drag" system in an editor that will modify these internally.

| I realize the editor a fetus, just clearing things up so when know what the alpha will be like. Kep up the good work. that procedural sounds interesting, i'm going to look into it more
