| i get new great idea of space tools, it would be called solaris. it would have 3 parts: 1)lighter 2)cooler 3)collector after projectile is launched to gas planet, all parts wil go to other side. lighter wil start to colect solar wind and deflect it to gas planet, so all gas wil get to the collector, who wil collect it and use it as empire powering source. cooler then goes and drills in the planet remmanmants, molten core and cool it with super hidrogenyc nuclear explosion and one part of cooler wil still be here, so planet can't melt. and then you can terraform it as rocky planet. what about idea?

| So what it does is remove all gas from a gas giant and leave only the rocky parts. I see some problems here:
We are still not sure whether gas giants have a nucleus inside them, or how big it is.
If you remove all the gas, what will you do with it? If you try to burn the hydrogen in order to make energy, you will need an unimaginable ammount of oxygen and then you will have to deal with all the water.
An explosion that cools the planet? Explosions can only generate heat, not remove it. Anyway, probably removing the gas cover would freeze whatever is inside it, unless you leave enough gas to make an athmosfere.
For the second problem, the only solution i see would be to transform that mass directly to energy. Once you get that kind of tecnology, you could alredy make the planet you want from all the energy you generated from the matter. Or you could go to Magrathea and buy the planet you wanted, and leave the gas giant alone.

but if gas planet is near to enemy, we can completely SUCOFATE them, or just use it part in part.

i can change that, it's time for nuclear winter!

right.
yep, all that is problem but if we reach tehnology enough powerful for it, it would became something almostly poosibble but we can change some things. anyways, i think solar wind thing will work, at least when we want to sucofate anemy planet, including all them. (results:lava planet right to some rocky planet covered with gas and full of bodyes... cruel and crazy, but working) NEW ACHEVEMENT: EPIC MURDER: do what i just said!
