May I ask about alternate atmospheres? Could I have one as extreme as a theoretically possible chlorine atmosphere, or just one with say, high nitrogen content?

Yes, over Earth's. That would likely be on a younger than Earth planet, because plants will make more oxygen as the time goes by.

Any composition of atmosphere can be added in the planet editor, as long as we include the substance (we will maybe have a few toxic gases). However, life would probably only be possible with an Earth-like atmosphere (that is, from any point in Earth's history).

Ah, okay, thanks Uteen.

PS: What is a grubworm? Is it sorta like a serpentsnake? Get it? They are two synonomous words-- nevermind. But really, what is a grubworm?

I creature I made in Spore, years ago. It's a mammalian worm-like thing, that's only real purpose was to be a food for sapient species in Galactic Adventures.
