How life is formed

Did we ever decide how life will be formed? On the old forum there were suggestions of Panspermia theory and the simple "molecules arranging themselves in the right shape theory". This is about in the normal gameplay mode, in Godmod you would just zap the molecules and make life.

I beleive we decided we would just show some molecules forming the simplest forms of life, and leave it up to the player why the molecules merged. (Was it God? Was it just random luck?)
