| I don't come with much skills, and I doubt I can do any programming until the engine is fully done.
I can speak for myself and say that I am creative. I also know a few people who might help, but no guarantees.
Who am I? I am a simple modder. I've modded Fallout and Skyrim, so you won't expect too much work for me. And remember I actually found it quite hard to mod these games, so remember I am no proffesional neither a super-modder. I enjoy realistic games with immersive world, and when I heard about this project a few months back I was excited. I hope you're still working on it, but I reckon that since I see updates from your guys channel. I've never been this excited for a game in a while, but I see you're still in alpha.
What I'd like in this game is specially realism, as you are working on, but also so that stages aren't so cut off together. Everything should be more like a huge quest and world, where realism and hardcore survival is important. I know this is a lot to ask, but please take it to note in further developement so it is not ignored. Evolving in spore was always a bit unrealistic as for you press a button and suddenly they got hutts and stuff.
I hope you'll add plant evolution, though I personally wouldn't like to play as one. What I mean by Plant Evolution is simply that plants and flora evolve without you, and I hope the world does too. (Maybe there should be settings for that?)
As the world goes into an ice age because it moves away from the sun, or the world goes into extreme heat and almost all animals go extinct and you'll have to adapt. This is the kind of game I've been waiting for.
Then, there's also another idea I have. Which is very complex. It's so that every new born child in your pack/tribe has a mutation. Most are in vain and bad, but some come in handy. It's not going to be ultra realism, but it's leaning towards it. As for the ones that were unfit for the enviorment die out, and when you breed with the fit ones you pass on their good genetics. I'm gonna put an example below:
1. You and your pack is hunting in the plains. 2. A few of your pack members die. 3. You, however, survive with your creature. 4. He/she/neutral breeds with the surviving mate. 5. You pass on the genes that made you survive.
I think some of you may have discussed this before, but I just thought I should drop it here.
Quick question, are you going to put this on Steam Greenlight? Maybe a bit too early, but it would help it gain attention and people to work on it.
Regards, AlienSensei.

| Welcome to the Thrive project AlienSensei!
Many of your ideas have already been accounted for, such as the generational mutation, the large world (which I believe will be several times larger than Spore), the plant evolution, etc.
Although I use Steam regularly, I don't know that the Steam Greenlight is. Is it something to spotlight developing games?

However, I'm not sure about if you have to be in Beta stage to add it there, etc. But I think you can actually add any kind of game, as long as you are working on it. If you'd consider that, you could get support from Valve and bigger companies, and a lot of more programmers. (because steam is a huge community) It's something you should think about, specially depending on if you need more to work on it.

| Welcome!
We discused that individual mutations are a bit too much. You need a big population, and if every creature is unique it will take more resources for each one, limiting the population we can simulate.
I dint think Steam Greenlight fits with our project. Especially as we don't want any kind of profit, Valve cannot get anything from us. Our interests are oposite from a companie interest.

Wait, so you're doing it for free? You know, I would easily pay 10 Euros for such a game, even if it wasn't at the highest quality. You know, even 5 dollars wouldn't be too expensive, and with that you could pay enough for an expansion and hire proffesional video game makers. Just saying.

| No, this game is grounded in the fact that it will be free and that we work voluntarily, as well as it being open-source.
EDIT: I hope that didn't come out as harsh. I appreciate your enthusiasm towards the project, but this is a fundamental principle of the project.
