PostSubject: An apology, a response, and a belated introduction   An apology, a response, and a belated introduction EmptyMon Sep 09, 2013 8:15 pm

So I guess I should start this off with an apology to Nick and scio, mostly Nick. I worded the ends of my posts to make myself sound like an arrogant belgium, and I have no clue why the belgium (I'm starting to like to say "belgium") I did that. I think I just wanted to prove people wrong and got carried away completely. I'm so sincerely sorry for that, and I'll be avoiding that path in the future.

I also apologize for posting like an idiot on that page, not really thinking deeply about how the ideas might not apply. If you used the double uplifting concept as uplifting, then it doesn't apply. If you use it as masters and pets, then the civilization becomes amphibious, and also doesn't apply. and the ledge idea was ruined by the fact that scio was using the word "amphibious" in game terms (capable of modifying both the land above and below water) instead of the real definition (capable of operating while on land or in water). I should've really thought about that before posting the idea. Hey, just be glad I at least read through the entire topic. Taking down that topic was probably a good idea because of all the bans resulting from people trying to prove you wrong. (Though I'll admit I was formulating an idea using submarine volcanoes, but there were a couple complications that could only be solved or proven impossible through discussion)

And now, after a week of waiting, you can finally know a little more about me. Firstly, I apologize a lot for little things (which you can likely figure out by the first 2 paragraphs) Secondly, I like to try to prove people wrong, but generally give up quickly if I don't have a "Eureka" moment. I tend to like to be a little sarcastic sometimes, and also tend to attempt to not be too mean (though my 1st posts I sort of failed at that). Yes, I dwell on my mistakes. How could you tell? I also try to stay somewhat intelligent with my posts and do my research (which is both why I'm starting to like my submarine volcano idea). Oh, I do also get a little crazy with continuing on jokes.

Now for the reason I'm taking a look at thrive. No, it's not for the creature evolution; it's for the strategy and vehicle construction. I've been playing Spore since January, 2010, and have spent probably less than 1% of my time actually going through the stages and completing others adventures. I've spent most of those 3 years constructing vehicles, fine tuning my construction skill and posing them in pictures in the galactic adventures editor. I'm curious on how the vehicle editors will wind up and how much more I'll be able to do with them than Spore's, and to the strategy of using your creations in the industrial (maybe also society) age. I could easily give recommendations on them, and I could see thrive potentially breaking into the strategy market if the "civilization" stages aren't dumbed down much. If you need help creating vanilla units, give me an editor and I could likely build you tanks, ships, and aircraft of different eras for the opponent nations to use. I also have connections (no, not the hitman types who will go into your house and try to shoot you. Well, actually, I don't know if any of them ARE hitmen who would go into your house and try to shoot you. You may just have to take a chance if you want other good vehicle builders to help out)

PS: I get really competitive about music and slightly about youtubers. If you ask about either you will get a long and detailed list as a response, and possibly an insult if I dislike what you like enough.

Hey man, we all make mistakes, what really matters is if we learn from them, and it seems to me that you have.

Plus, those ships look BELGIUMMING AWESOME!! What software did you use to make them, as far as I know Spore's editor can't make something like that, but why stretch out the page man?

well, the stretching out of the page was an unintentional effect of Spore taking large screenshots. I reduced it to 40% of its full size

Yes, those ships were built in spore with the complexity limitations. The entire thing was assembled in GA and I used the waterfall and water spray effects to create the moving effect. You can tell it is spore because of the slight curve of the planet adjusting the ships into a not quite straight line (which photoshop couldn't fix, so I just cropped the upper curve of the planet).

Welcome to the forums.

Thank you for apologizing, even though it wasn't necessary. Those images made on Spore look really nice, and quite a ways down the line when we have a full Tech Editor working and we have the Strategy Modes underway we are going to need people to create some preset models for players and AI to use in the game.

However, acknowledging that you may insult people doesn't justify it (regarding Youtube preferences or whatever it was), so please avoid doing so.
