Hello everybody (Here to get involved)

Greetings and salutations!

Of course there's a whole slew of mundane bits of information about myself I could throw out here, but I suppose I'll just hit the important ones:

I'm a computer science major about to finish my bachelors focusing on machine learning, algorithm design, and video game development. (I consider myself to be a fairly competent programmer, and learn new things quite quickly). Recently I became obsessed with neural networks and genetic algorithms as they pertain to simulation games, and in the process of doing rather absurd amounts of research on the topic for my own interests I stumbled across this game.

I was immediately intrigued, and when I realized it was open source, I knew that I wanted to get involved. Obviously how much I am able to contribute will be directly tied to how much free time I have, but I am hoping to be able to contribute even if it's only in a few small areas.

It's great to see you have experience in programming and are interested in game development. For coding, the Programming subforum is the place to go, as well as out GitHub repository (https://github.com/Revolutionary-Games/Thrive) in case you haven't found it yet.

Other than that, check around the forums and see where you can help. It's good to see you already got interested in the NPC Auto-Evo thread and the Pop Dynamics thread.

I've already read through almost the entire engine code as well as the currently written Lua scripts to get an idea where you are at.

Unfortunately I'm going to be rather busy for the next week with finals, but I'm looking forward to working on this project with you.

Don't worry, many of us here are busy these days, myself included, but I for one will have a heck of a lot more free time come Christmas holidays.
