| Welcome new user! It appears you have decided to join in the daunting task of Thrive's development, and if so you are in the right place. Below is a list of the different teams of the Thrive project. All the work of the project is delegated between the teams. When posting your application, make sure to mention which team(s) you would like to join. Navigate through the links to see the work currently being done by each team and how you can help. The TeamsProgrammingTeam Leads: crovea, moopli The Programming Team is responsible for turning ambitious game design into working game features. Types of work: Scripting, Engine Programming, Interface Programming, etc. Click here to join the Programming TeamGraphicsTeam Leads: ThrivingCheese But without some nice models and textures, functioning game features are not that rewarding. The Graphics Team is here to remedy that problem. Types of work: Modelling, animation, texturing, etc. Click here to join the Graphics TeamSoundTeam Leads: Oliveriver Even then, the game just won't feel right or immerse you well enough without realistic sound effects and beautiful music to pull you in, courtesy of the Sound Team. Types of work: Sound effects, music Click here to join the Sound TeamMarketingTeam Leads: WJacobC Having a polished, fleshed out game is all fine and dandy, but without the Marketing Team how will people find out about it? Click here to join the Marketing TeamProject ManagementTeam Leads: NickTheNick, ~sciocont The Project Management Team is meant to ensure that a group of volunteers working from around the world keeps their efforts focused and efficient. This team is a bit more challenging to get into. Moderator status is something only given to experienced users already established in the project. However, we are looking for people who have experience in project management who can help us improve our project's structure, or people able to update/maintain the wiki. Types of work: Updating/maintaining the wiki, moderating Click here to join the Project Management Team (Link coming soon)

- Excellent work Sciocont. I have a couple suggestions for revision.
Merge the Economics branch with the Society branch (keep it called Society). i know the Crash Course thread has Economics in the name, but it also involves a lot of work on the TE and the application of the compound system to post Society gameplay.
Include the Dropbox link for all the files we have collected as well, under programming.
Maybe a link to Doggit's youtube channel so they can hear what has been done so far.
Include this thread under Art. https://thrivegame.canadaboard.net/t1036p60-microbe-models-images-textures#21415
Add in this thread under Society. https://thrivegame.canadaboard.net/t1081p15-function-part-discussion#21383
That's all I can think of for now. It is perhaps best to put the link to my (our) youtube channel to hear the latest songs.

| Oh, scio, you should add a link to the Thrive Abbreviations Dictionary thread, by Zim. We should also start updating that list with all the new jargon we've picked up. | |

| I am not familiar with programming but I suppose decent at knowing a slight amount of Evolution. However, I would enjoy sharing ideas and such, various ideas for Science Fact and Science fiction.
I understand you are dealing with a game that may have a great deal to do with more factual happenings instead of a group of aliens deciding to come together to form a Death Ball capable of devastating entire planets, but I think my ideas may or may not help, ultimately, it is not up to me.
I'm not one for "Forums" and all of that, so I probably will not post often, I have two questions, and then I will wait for a reply which may never come.
-Does this Website track my I.P. Address? I understand the internet is not an anonymous place, but I do not want to be tracked by a website. It is one of the things I am deathly Paranoid of.
-Secondly, where is a sort of Forum where I may share these ideas? They might not be so groundbreaking as the naming of parts for creatures and all of that sort of stuff that the grand population of this website is devoted to, but I hope that my ideas will help keeping the game semi-realistic so that people who want to break away from realism may do so.
On an Off-note, I know that creating aliens is already more Unrealistic than sitting at home playing some sort of game where you shoot people multiple times, and I fully understand that it is a Project that you are taking to heart and taking very seriously, but I just feel like it may be a bit too realistic for some people. Who knows what Aliens can do? Perhaps they are floating clouds of consciousness or perhaps they are behemoths that roam planets the size of our sun? It is a simple request, and I eagerly await an answer.

| Hey, i remember you! You were on the IRC a few days ago. However it was 4am where i live so i was sleeping. 1) Yes, the website keeps a log of the IP a user posts from, but that info is only avaible to moderators. However, IP adresses are of little use usually. For example, my IP adress (95.19.160.126) can tell that i'm in the east side of Spain, but thats it. I'm actually about 80 Km away from the place it says. 2) There are plenty of threads you can post ideas on. They are listed right in this very thread (unless someone moves this posts to your own welcome thread). If you have a sugestion or a question you dont know where it should go, put it in the "absurdly long named thread that i can never remember the name of" thread. | |

I didn't know anyone would notice. :PÂ
One, it is an immense honour to be replied to by a Moderator on my very first post on the Website, I thought I should mention that. Two, thank you very much for noticing a Username so random that I figured that I would immediately be forgotten.
I will attempt to share my ideas, and hopefully, one of them, may be good enough to get ~sciocont to reply.
I highly doubt it, though.

| I don't know what was behind that link, but if you want to get a development environment set up, have a look at the directory "mingw_setup" in the git repository. There's a readme there that should get you started. For the time being, I recommend using the "prototype" branch of the repository. And since it's tradition for my posts to have lists, here's a short step-by-step guide for starting to work on Thrive's codebase:
- Fork the Thrive git repository. Why? You most likely won't have write access to the main repository and pull requests from a fork are the easiest way to get your work merged back into the core.
- Clone your fork.
- Follow the instructions in "mingw_setup/readme.txt"
- Curse Nimbal for not keeping the code documentation up-to-date

| Hello Deathtrooper here, Reporting from the Deathkorps of Krieg.
I know this game has an amazing team in all and has been showing very great progress, it still needs to get more attention. Remember the massive flood in of guests during that reddit flooding. That was great, but the problem was that it slowly stopped to the point only a few guests are showing up every day.
I was considering myself to help you guys with spreading this game out across the web. Luckily if i do, i might catch the attention of other freelance programmers, modelers (i'm a amateur modeler myself, still need practice though), and some crazy old spore fans or newcomers.
Well i was considering making a kicka** Source Filmmaker video and was going to post a link to this site at the end of the video. Seriously you guys are awesome and you need a hell of a lot more attention.

| Thank you for your support, but we aren't losing heart in the project or anything. It's just that there has been a lull in activity on the forums since several big members, as well as me, have been had busy schedules recently, and the coders do their work over on GitHub. Given some time things will return to normal, and I will be having much more free time soon to contribute. | |
