| (This might be better off as it's own thread so as not to derail the discussion on the website) Done - moopli wrote:
- The wiki is pretty much abandoned. Part of the reason is that it deosn't really fit into anyone's workflow, and the other part is that it was a victim of its early success, and now kinda just holds old stuff we don't wanna bother with.
- The devblog on this forum is nowadays pretty much an admin announcements system.
- I, and possibly others, would like a soapbox where we can talk about interesting development-related things.
I think the first three points you raised are really important to address.
- Although this has been raised before I want to mention it again, the idea of sealing discussions by updating the wiki, and linking wiki pages to forum discussions. For example a discussion on the forum concludes that the MP cap should be lowered to 42. Then the wiki is updated to include this new information, with a link to the thread that discussed it.
- Ideally the devblogs should be a place for all team leads to post updates and progress reports of their departments on a regular basis, although I presume with the lack of time some people have and also a bit of confusion over its role, it's become a series of admin updates lately. This doesn't mean I don't want to strive towards the ideal I think we should really try to get that going.
- The team has expanded lately to include a few more guys with development talent, and it will continue to do so as the game develops. Hopefully we can get the TD subforum going off this momentum.

| Since the wiki is hard to update we could add a wiki to the Github repo and/or make one using something more accessible such as MediWiki. | |

| That's not the issue, it's because A) There has been relatively little progress in game design lately, and B) Lack of people with the time and initiative to work on it. Switching to Github doesn't fix either of those and what we have right now on wikidot works very well. | |

| Just for future reference I'd be happy to host a MediaWiki setup. I mentioned it in the website thread. Only takes a few minutes to set up and I could probably even transfer the current wiki's data to the new one. | |

With a multiple-user blog planned for the website, the devblog can effectively be split in two. The website could act as a place for outreach to fans (gobbling up the function of the ModDB posts as well), while the devblog stays a series of admin and development announcements. Whether this would actually fix the problem is debatable - I think people would be (and have been) more intent on promoting progress to the rest of the world than talking to the development team, which they can do anywhere on the forum anyway to an extent. | |
