| I know we have already come to the conclusion that intelligent aquatic life would be limited technologically by the lack of fire, but I thought this subject deserved it's own thread.
However, using advanced textiles research it would be possible to make a reverse diving suit. It would allow your species to venture above water and research terrestrial things.
I have also proposed a reverse sub-marine city. This would be from my other thread, Sub-Marine Society. Rather than the city being deep under the ocean, filled with oxygen and surrounded by water, an aquatic race that's researched enough into ways to reach the surface and done enough of the required surface research would be able to colonize the surface, building cities built full of water and surrounded by oxygen.

| What about using reverse-scuba-suits? RedStar proposed this a long while back. It would allow aquatic species to research terrestrial techs (fire, metal working, etc). And i don't believe that fire is necessary to create hand-sewn, airtight suits. Thoughts? | |

Interesting.... Maybe aquatic animals could use tanks full of water instead of oxygen?

| It's a good idea, but again, there's the paradox of how they would make the suits with such limited technology. | |

| I think advanced textiles were required for it. Sewing, for example. | |

I forgot about that. I'll add it to the OP.
