| As you would know if you were a member of the earlier forums, I love the video game BioShock, which takes place in a city built deep beneath the ocean. Now, this got me wanting to be able to build underwater cities in Thive as well. It would require several different chains of Research to be highly understood to do it, but I'm wondering, do you want this at all? What would you change about it? How would we implement it in-game?
Of course, these cities would count as Society Centers. Plus, it would not have to match the fictional depth of the city in my video game (six miles deep). Of course, maybe with some intense research this would be possible. But before the player reaches that level of research, we need some way to limit the depths at which they may construct their utopia.

| Personaly, I would love underwater cities. But that's just my option. Why don't you add a poll? | |

| Didn't someone on the evo forums give a big long post about how such a society could not reach spaceflight on its own? So some could exist, but they would be fairly primitive, unless they were helped by another species that is on land.
I thought it was a cool idea, but we must be realistic.

I thought it was a cool idea, but we must be realistic. I mean a surface race colonizing the depths of the sea, not an aquatic race building these things.

I mean a surface race colonizing the depths of the sea, not an aquatic race building these things. Oh, then that could happen easily once they got enough technology. Now I want to change my answer on the poll.

| With the right researches and tech objects, there is no reason why this couldn't be done. I imagine that a very tech-savvy but weak nation may try to relocate to underwater cities to try to avoid their enemies. 'A man doesn't run when he's threatened. A man hides!' | |

| I agree with Alaska: If you build it, they will come. As long as your species can build underwater cities, they can exist. | |
