Easter eggs: something to laugh at.

No offense, but I am against putting references to forum members. A lot of people here would deserve their own reference in game (Nick, Daniferrito, Scio, untrustedlife, Oliveriver, WJacobc, Doggit, Calli, Nimbal, and that is just to name a few) and it would be very unfair if we put a reference to one forum member and not another. A lot of people here have made a lot of contribution.

What about this: in times of unhappiness, there would be a crowd protesting, and somewhere in the shouting, you could hear a "Belgium you!" As a reference to the filter on the forum.

As do I. It reminded me of the revolts/protests that you could get in spore. If you decided to have every building be a factory, that is. (I still have the sound that plays when there's a protest memorised.)

Same thing as I said in the Achievements thread, do not let this detract from the current development towards the Microbe Stage and the other stages. It's great that you guys have fun thinking of these, but also remember that we need to work on the Microbe Stage. We are the closest we have ever been towards completing the first stage, so lets not lose that momentum and carry through to finish a first release, and then another, and then another. Before we can have little embellishments like this, we need the actual game, so we ought to get working on that.

You are free to post here, but if thinking up new easter eggs begins to take away from work on the more important areas of the game, I will lock this until some actual game releases are out.

EDIT: Btw, WilliamsTheJohn, its not blue coral, they are blue bubbles.

i like the "Belgium" reference, but as nick said, we haveto focus in the microbe stage...we will have to think in the achievements and easter eggs later :B

Maybe a rare dinosaur like cell that can only be encountered through microbe stage?

No offense, but you just joined the project, so I don't think there should be an Easter Egg to your username. Also, how can a cell be like a dinosaur? If you mean a cell in the shape of a dinosaur, that is not even close to subtle.

I've got a idea: how about, if you were in a cave, there would be a 2% chance of slenderman being behind you if you turned around and kill you? That would be a KILLER* jumpscare, wouldn't it?

i wonder if someone has already suggested things related to the Space Odyssey books, like the monolith or the famous quotes of HAL9000

a ~.001% chance of a meteor in a belt having a 80's diner on it

in an arid biome on your home planet there is a very small chance of a Mongolian death worm in awakening to industrial stage

if you go into the life of a civilian (can't remember what that is called), if it hasn't been scrapped,
then go into a place with paper scattered (office, lab etc.) there could be a newspaper, or article warning about giant death laser chickens, underneath other pieces of paper

also in that mode in offices there could be 'hang in there' and other motivational-posters/advice-animals that have the text in an alien language.

I liked most of them, but (this is my opinion)the death lazer chickens should be scrapped.
