EASTER EGG: Earth and Humans Empty
PostSubject: EASTER EGG: Earth and Humans    EASTER EGG: Earth and Humans EmptyWed Jul 14, 2010 6:32 pm

Okay, I had an idea for an easter egg: a planet bearing incredibly close resemblence to the Earth, populated by humans and some of the most common Earth creatures. Up close, it would just bear the same characteristics as Earth (Example: North Pole and Antarctica are both Tundra, Louisiana area is Marsh/Swamp, Texas area is plains and forests, Siberia is Tundra, ect. ect.) It would only bear close resemblance. It would NOT be an exact replica.

Thoughts?

Sounds good. I can implement it as an override plugin to the engines.

(so say if we have a universe generator it would override a point in space to include the sol system)

Basically, a mod. Things like this would have to be implemented as mods, by the way, in order to not break the engine itself. Otherwise we have the ability to include earth hardcoded into the binary, which would be a bit screwy..

EDIT: which at the same time allows people who dont want it to disable the "earth easter egg" plugin from laoding.

Dont get me wrong though, it doesnt have to show up as a mod. Just on the technical side of things. You could make it that in order to disable it you edit a config file or something.

Well, it's cool to know it's possible! We'd have to do our homework on what the climate is like on other planets a bit, though.

Sounds good. This would be a nice easter egg.
