Hey everyone, I'm Immortal Dragon. I heard about this project online while searching for Spore, and believe Thrive could be what I'm looking for in a game like this.

I don't have coding or other skills that would be useful in terms of making the game, but I do have some creativity (I like to think so), and really want to help in terms of concepts.

Plus I want to say a small apology for not posting this first, really wanted to start helping out and got ahead of myself, heh heh.

In short, I'm pretty much a concepts kind of person, as I have no programming skills relevant to creating a game like Thrive. I hope to contribute in any way I can.

Hi, and welcome to the thrive team. It's not a problem that you can't program, draw, or write music. I would recommend picking a specialty for contributing, and then researching it. Once again, welcome.

Welcome to the Thrive forums Immortal_Dragon!

I hope you have a good time contributing, and make sure to read up on a topic before posting on it, to avoid repetition.

Hey again, internet's still out, and just posting an update, next semester in college I will be taking an introduction course to programming, and I hope I will be able to implement this knowledge and take another course in video game design after that. So, I hope I put this in the right thread.

Good luck with the course. I want to warn you, however, that you will have to go a pretty long way until you get to any seriously applicable knowledge. I gained my experience through a course organized jointly by a major software/energy company and a university, and it took almost 2 years just to learn pre-requests for object-oriented programming, and another additional year for OOP itself. Graphics weren't even included in the course.

The yearly course was pretty long as well, lasted from roughly mid-October to March, once a week for 2 hours.

If you know, how much does your course last in total and from which level are you starting(are you starting from the very basic languages like Pascal or BASIC)?

Sorry for the long time to reply, home internet's still out (grandparents have been kind enought to let me use theirs). I am not sure, it is a basic introductory course to programming.
