I'm way overdue for an introductory post.

I never have anything to say in these blasted things, though.

I wish I could help with the project but sadly I have no skills. At all. I was going to get a programming degree at one point but as I had to move to the other side of the country I never finished college. Perhaps if you have any work left by the time I go back, I can help, but until then I'll merely be staring at the forum page thinking "Oooh, shiny".

Hahahah, that's alright Kiitan. There seems to be a few people like this. Have you tried your hand at a biome or food web? That's where we seem to be directing all these non-technical people these days.

Welcome, be sure to check the wiki and do all that stuff. I'm sure there's enough links in these welcome threads that you can find one, there's probably a sticky as well. EDIT: If there is a sticky, where is it? Wherever it is, it could show up in this section as well, then we could just say: "Check the wicky sticky at the top of this forum section."

Don't be ashamed by a lack of technical knowlege. Apply your elbows to the space on either side of you and make yourself useful. And, in the normal way of things (when we aren't so utterly focused on cell stage and the biomes/food webs feature,) we regularily mine even the most inexperienced and disorganized of brains for useful nuggets of information.

You don't have to be a programmer to be useful. I couldn't program my way out of a paper bag. We just happen to love programmers because they are pretty rare and always useful.

The fact that you tried to be a programmer already sets you ahead of most of us. Right now our lead programmer (All hail the binary messiah) has been whining for some psuedo-code. Perhaps you could try your hand at that.
