| So it hasn't really been discussed on these new forums how we're actually going to interact with the controlled organism in Org Mode. Obviously using the keyboard arrows would move the creature by default, but i believe that to have a better range of interactions to objects and other organisms we need to make use of a Click-Action interface. Think The Sims bubble options, but more serious. This would allow for the player to do things like 'Dig' when selecting ground, or to 'Bite' when selecting organisms. SO i guess what i'm asking is do you guys like the sounds of this?
Also, i can foresee some people wanting to use the mouse to move the camera or something. This should of course be possible, by holding in the scroll wheel or something simple like that.

| Good idea, although the scroll wheel should have an alternative, for people (like me) who have laptops. | |

In what way? The mouse, or game performance? Because I use an exterior laser mouse, and I have my memory maxed out on my laptop.

| I think that to fully enjoy this game, you will need a mouse. But i say that about nearly every game that uses one. | |

Because I use an exterior laser mouse, and I have my memory maxed out on my laptop. both actually, since much of our creature stage is reflex fight or flight the mouse pad may become quite cumbersome. This is also a large game and laptops are never on par with the current computers.

I paid a buck at a "Big Lots" to buy the thing. It's just a USB mouse that you just hook up and you're good to go. I actually bought it because the Creature stage in Spore was proving to be a headache. Now let's get back on topic.

| Mice are cheap. However, touchscreens are becoming a fad, we'll need to consider touchscreen users. | |

Yes, but on a touchscreen things like scrolling and right-click are different, and we need to make sure that our controls make these things easy in a touchscreen. Things like bigger buttons are something we'll want to consider.

| Unless the space on touchscreen computers increases vastly before the game comes out, we won't have this problem. They'll never hold all the save information. As for the buttons, simply have a menu that has buttons hidden in it that ca be assigned as hotkeys. And simply having small arrows at the sides of the screen, or having the ability to drag the map, would be an easy way of scrolling. | |

Yeah- with the hidden panels of controls, side scrolling wouldn't work.
