| After a couple of days of work, the English version of the new Revolutionary Games website is now up! :D http://revolutionarygamesstudio.com/index.htm The Italian and French versions should also be accessible soon, and if anyone can translate to Spanish or Portuguese I'll need your help too. I'll just warn you that from Sunday to Tuesday I'll be in France (où je peux pratiquer mon français pour le site web et les examens, qui je vais avoir dans quelques semaines) and therefore won't have much access to the internet. That means I also won't be able to update the site until afterwards either. | There are a few things in the website that are not completelly right. The design is great, and i love it, but some things need revising:
On a small screen, it doesent scale properly. I dont know how easy is that to solve, but if it can be done so it scales to use all the avaible witdh and only that, it would look better on screens too big or too small.
I'm not sure about the note at the bottom left stating that the images and text are copyrighted. I believe one of the principles of this project is that everything we do is free to use, modify ordo anything they want by anybody. Althrouth i'm not sure to what extent that is.
In the FAQ: The game will be for PC and Linux, and probably Mac. Linux suport is almost guaranteed.
There are download links for the game, althrough it barely has anything coded yet.
There will probably be a few more things to be fixed or added.
However, dont get me wrong. The website looks amazing, and i love it. I will probably write a few more things about myself. After reading scio and nick introductions, i realized there are a lot more things i can say about myself.

| Thanks for moving this, Daniferrito.
I'm not sure whether the scaling can be fixed or not, but if it can I'll have a go. It's currently optimised for desktop browsers rather than on phones, although I have looked at it on a smaller screen and I didn't find any problems. Maybe it only applies to certain browsers or devices.
You're probably right about the copyright notice, but I should probably check with ~scio first just to be sure.
I'll change the information on the FAQ section to include Linux and the link to a prototype download. As for your introduction, just send me the new one once you're finished and I'll update the site.

| Spectacular work Oliver!
Scio, I think now would be a good time to post the prototypes and the Thrive Music Bundle on the ModDB page, as the website will allow an easier access for people to go from our ModDB page, to our website, to the forums. What do you think?

| Well, i'm not on a mobile phone, only on a tiny computer (1024x576). Actually, it is fine if it doesent scale too well, most pages dont do it in such a low resolution anyway. I wast meaning one of the prototypes (althrough linking them would be good as well). I was meaning the Thrive releases thread. Althrough a big disclaimer stating that it is not something close to a finished game would be needed. Actually, i'm going to put it as well in the thread so people dont get confused. I believe we had a case of two alredy. About translating: I believe there will be plenty of people to translate the website to different languages on the translation thread. How are you going to handle languages? With flags for the languages, probably at the top right? | |

| @NickTheNick I could also add the prototypes and music bundle to the website if need be.
@Daniferrito Ah, I understand now. There is already a link to the Thrive Releases thread (on the news page), although it's slightly obscure and would attract more attention if I put it on the home page. As for translating, I was planning to use flags in the top corner to change the languages and link them to separate pages, which are the same as the English version but in the desired language.

| Looks great! I really, really love that you've done this, But I do have a few suggestions, and things I want to work with you on.
-The primary font here appears to be Times New Roman. I don't hate TNR,but I think the site would look much better if we used a sans-serif font such as Calibri, Arial, Tahoma, or something of the sort. I'd prefer Calibri, but I'm open to suggestions.
-The black background could be spiced up a bit- right now, switching it to a dark gray would be nice (I'm thinking #2b2b2b)
-Beyond this, I'd like to know if we can spice up the top banner- I have a few ideas for its shape, and putting images within the shards.
Don't think this doesn't mean I'm extremely impressed! I am very proud of the new site, but everything can benefit from group discussion, even great new places like this.

| Nice job Oliveriver! I just posted about my website prototype over on the Welcome subforum. This is really cool, especially the shards, but maybe we could work together to add some of the features of my prototype, (responsive, background, color theme, etc.) to your design or vice versa. Great work though! | |

| That shouldn't be too hard, ~sciocont. However, one would need each of those images individually and then set the <div> background to each independent image. Simply, can you upload each of those images individually? The header would look awesome with that background! | |

| I can split them, up but I'll wait until tomorrow. I have a really nice idea that rolling over the images will change them into a part of the icon of the site or area they link to. | |

| Wow, so many responses full of positive feedback!
@Raptorstorm It would be very helpful if you could translate it to Slovak or Czech, although for now I think we should focus on more widely spoken languages, such as Spanish or French.
@~sciocont The font was originally DicotMedium, the same font that I used for the title. However, it's not a widely installed font and therefore would appear differently to different users. In the end, I settled onGeorgia as it looked the most appropriate and legible, although I agree that Calibri or Arial may be better. I'll also change the background colour. As for the header, don't bother splitting it up as I can do that myself just as easily. I will, though, have to increase the distance between each panel slightly like I've done with the first one. Leaving them close together did some weird things to the links. Replacing the image with the icon or part of the page when you roll over it should also be pretty simple.
@WJacobC It's certainly possible to implement some of your design (which I have to say looks just amazing), although it may not be transferrable to the program I'm using to build it. I'm using Xara Designer, which is sort of a cross between a graphics program, word processor and web builder.
I'll make a start on the edits today, but since I'm in France from tomorrow until Tuesday and I have quite a lot of work for school to do after that, don't expect any substantial changes until next at least next Sunday. Not to pester anyone or anything, but I still need the history of Thrive's development and Seregon's introduction to complete everything.

Anyways, i would love to make sections to gallery, and change font into Calibri (which i prefer more). If you need hep to translate in serbian, i can help. @~Scionot the header looks awesome!

| @Oliveriver oh I see. That makes sense, the shards would be really hard to do in just plain code. What I'll do is try and perhaps convert the shards over to plain HTML and try and implement it in my design and we can see how that turns out. Also, glad you liked my design! Have a great time in France. | |

| The website looks amazing so far Just a suggestion, shouldnt we try and keep the forum, the wiki and the site with the same colour scheme? It's just an idea
And when I say that I mean maybe change the forum to look more like the site, I really like the simplicity and colour scheme used on it

| @Monstahart You would have to ask ~sciocont (he's in charge around here) about a forum theme change. However, we used to have a darker theme, and plenty of people reported that it was hard to see and read content on. I'm sure it could be done, but you'd need to talk to ~sciocont and work out a color scheme that is easy enough to read and navigate through. | |

| How far apart do you need them? I can just retrace the breaks with a larger line to help you, since if you spread them apart manually, they'll break apart the lines of the picture that they all share. | |

| I'm not sure anymore, as Oliveriver is using a special editor and not just plain code. For just plain code, they need only to be broken apart by 1 pixel into a square image for each shard. You'd have to ask Oliveriver how it would work in his program though. | |

| Try about double the distance between each of them for now. When I said weird things were happening to the links, I meant they were overlapping, causing more than one mouse over link at a time. I had a quick go with the current design and with a bit of readjusting I managed to get it to work. I think it was just something to do with the fact that the clickable area had to be rectangular, but since this one works fine I'm not exactly sure. Also, could you make it more symmetrical? In its current shape it doesn't line up properly with the logo and consequrently makes evertything seem a little off-centre. This may be work-around-able (is that even a real word?), but if the layout stays as it is it may become a problem.
Anyway, that's probably the last you'll hear from me for the next few days, so I can't do anything about it now. Au revoir!
