a 21year old Electronics engineer from Austria
I am fluent with C on microcontrollers and know the basic principles of object orientated programming
and would like to help out with programming. (though i would need someone to teach me the higher aspects of C++ and game programming)
also i have some skills with 3dsMax, no noob, but no pro either. i someone needs something, just ask

i'd be glad to help with the techtree in the areas
Computer sciences
high-frequency EM physics (radio communication, radar, etc)
quantum mechanics
and aerospace propulsion systems
as these are my hobbies besides gaming and trying to get my phased array speaker to work >.<

Wow, welcome to Thrive cornflakes91!

It's great to see you so well versed in areas that can really help game development. Having a solid background in coding greatly helps in learning further languages. Untrustedlife, Nimbal, and Daniferrito are our main programmers right now, so they should be able to help you into C++.

3dsMax could also help out a lot. Right now, we are modelling organelles and cells for the Microbe Stage. Thriving Cheese is doing a good job of coordinating that. You should check out this thread for modelling.

Tech tree is always open to ideas, so hop over there if you have anything you want to suggest!

Welcome, cornflakes. Programmers are always welcome. Grabbing a guide on c++ programming would be your best bet, to learn how things are generally written in c++. From there on, look at the code, and ask about anything you dont understaund. The IRC channel is probably your best bet for fast answers, plus it doesent spam the forums. For info on that, this thread has some usefull information. nimbal and I (both programmers) are usually on on afternoons.

I did not want to be hard .. maybe put a smiley face at the end was better. But I say this because if all programmers (and others) that have occurred have really done something, we will be much further ahead.

for programming: i hope i can do something useful, but in 2 months i have to do my half year of armed service and after that i'll begin studying quantum physics.
this 2 things maybe impale my efficiency ^^
i really hope for this project and myself that i can hold my current motivation. i apologise in advance if i cannot ;P
