It reminds me of the music in minecraft, which maybe why I think its so peaceful.

For me, that song actually fits the bill well. It seems more of a fall of a monarchy due to an invasion, not revolution, which I think is what he was going for. If anything it could be a little longer but I truly enjoy it.

Tell me what you guys think!
(If you want me to upload it in a youtube video or something, let me know)
I think it would sound nicer with more instruments involved, since I personally have always preferred game music that was such.

Yeah i definitely prefer it when games have solid music, so maybe we could fatten it up a bit with a few more instruments?

A large proportion of the music will be fully orchestrated, but not all of it has to. Sometimes a single instrument, or only a couple, can say more than an entire orchestra, especially when dealing with sentimental or nostalgic music, which a Fall of a Monarchy Theme will have to be in at least a small part.

These melancholy songs I think are perfect for the "Game Over" of a game. Maybe once completely lost the game (for example, in the civilization and have selected the option "realism" that is that if you lose you can not restart from the last save, but completely lose everything.) There will be a slow video with this song with the most significant moments in the history of your race until the defeat (perhaps for reasons of pollution).

Oh I'm not doubting their quality as music, my issue is that I have trouble enjoying them in a game. In a game like Thrive I would prefer more symphonic (is that the word) music.

Symphonic or synthesized music is better for ambience (as Doggit has expertly demonstrated), so that will be what the vast majority of Thrive's music will be. However, there will occasionally come points where the music needs to be conspicuous. The fall of a monarchy, the end of a civilisation and the end of the game are all prime examples.
Anyway, we'll just have to see how they work once the game is out. :)Â

Sounds good man. I can see that working.
Do we have much battle music for tribal and creature stages? I'd like to make something jungley which would be using in more hectic parts.

Very nice work Oliveriver! Listening to this helps me imagine a theoretical game of Thrive where I am in the Awakening Stage and this music is playing.

New song that relates the alert of an eminent revolt in industrial stage. I decided to make "clean" sound, with a few tools and lots of bass to make good the feeling of anxiety and anticipation. What do you think Oliveriver?

No offense,(Portal here, I'm new) but I don't like it. Too repetitive.

It's a song of atmosphere "very mild" is not a song about a victory, a defeat, a political idea .. It must be repetitive.

I really like it. It makes me feel really anxious and has a foreboding and very dark feeling, like something really destructive and history-changing is going to happen soon.

I knew that it's going to play before a revolt. But what I meant was something like it gets stronger and stronger as the song progresses.

I like it, but I'm thinking for more tense moments in the game I would like to see less ambient music and something alot more intense and "in your face". Something to drive the tension and where we can have a really good soundtrack. These ambient songs definitely work for the less tense moments in game, don't get me wrong.

I actually really like it, although I don't really think of an imminent revolt when I hear it. It sounds similar in some respects to the dystopian theme I made, so maybe something along those lines? Also, although I do agree that repetitive music would work for something like this, I would prefer just a little more variation. Maybe just some quiet strings that come in about halfway through would be enough.
