What's new guys? Empty
PostSubject: What's new guys?   What's new guys? EmptyWed May 07, 2014 2:32 pm

Names Riulus, I'm a novice Programmer just learning the basics of c++ and javascript. A few friends of mine from another game forum, Species:ALRE, suggested that I look at this game when I had told them of my idea for a better version of Spore (of which I had planned to program myself. Probably still will, but at least this would be good experience if I can master those languages fast enough). Of course, from the screen shots and prototypes, I've grown fascinated with Thrive and its community. I just haven't had the heart nor the time to join you guys until now.

Of course, being a novice in programming I haven't the slightest clue how complicated the code is going to be for this game right now. That's probably something I need to work on too. I am curious as to what language Thrive runs on, and frankly I haven't a clue where anything is on these forums. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated, and all I can say now is... Thanks for having me!  :)

Welcome Riulus.
You have some luck, because Thrive is coded mostly in C++ and Lua.
About where everything is, here are some links.

https://thrivegame.canadaboard.net/t1403p105-miscellaneous-bugs-and-questions-that-don-t-deserve-their-own-thread-thread
Here is where you post small or pretty unimportant questions.

Here is where most of the actual work is located at.

What you can do further to learn more about the forum is read around and keep yourself updated with the new threads/topics(left, under keywords).
