| I don't know much about music composing software, but this part of a post by HongChong7 (composer of the original Thrive theme) might help. - hongchong7 wrote:

You can find the original topic here. https://thrivegame.canadaboard.net/t354-orchestral-scoring-theme-music#7264Also, you miiight want to post stuff like this in the "Misc. Bugs and Questions" thread from now on, rather than giving it its own thread. Not to bug you, it's just that the moderators get a bit bugged when someone posts a quick question or request as its own thread.

| We already have a Main Theme, so I'm afraid it's unlikely your effort will displace it. Also, a word of caution if you're going with what MitochondriaBox said - Reason has a reputation as the most confusing digital audio workstation in existence, Audacity isn't useful for sequencing unless you're using prerecorded parts and even Sibelius is difficult to get your head around at first. Sibelius and Reason are both pretty expensive as well. | |

Not that there's anything wrong with making such a theme, anyway; there's going to be "Main Theme Variants", and whatever theme you've got in mind could be applied anywhere. For starters, the main Thrive Theme, while made specifically to convey the vastness of space, would also work with a bittersweet movie scene about leaping into the fray from a great distance, the peaceful starting part being on the plane, and the part with the beat being the fall. There's still the restraints Oliveriver mentioned, however.
