| How would simultaneous species evolving work. Would it be like spore so that by the time you had cities, you where the only species. Perhaps we should have predators evolve alongside you in organism mode and unless sapience is reached before them you are hunted. I dunno'. Then again his would be annoying for people that want to stay in one stage. | |

| It would simply function. Under the right conditions, a species may reach sapiance alongside or even before you. It just depends. | |

| If we don't code a very buggy AI resulting in very unintelligent and accident-prone creatures bound for extinction, such as creatures randomly walking in circles or falling off cliffs, (which will take time to cover, obviously) then yes, I think we could. | |

| mammals existed from about 150 million years ago, but remained in the shadow of dinosaurs till 65 mil. years ago, that lead em to develop new tactics and skills which resulted in a bigger brain to act and gather food in the night time this is more of a organism mode thing...
for societies, i think that they'd eventually go extinct, leave the planet or something but some things would remain, which could lead to faster tech development (and cookies [dunno y i said this ])

| What if species that you frequently interact with evolve accordingly?
Say I'm a predator and have very sharp teeth. My main source of food is lizard like creatures. They are soft and quite tasty. Generations later, they have harder skin, and many more generations later, they have thick shells and are MUCH harder to eat.
Perhaps there could also be mutual relationships that evolve... Cleaner organisms who feed on parasites on a larger organisms skin for example...

| Do you mean like that shark that uses parasites to lure fish to eat, but consequently goes blind from the parasites on its eyes, but it doesn't matter, as the shark relies mainly on its sense of smell? Yay for long sentences! -Waap.

Perhaps the sharks could adapt by: a: Losing sight and focusing heavily on touch, smell etc. Or b: Grow thick scales around eyes The parasites then have to adapt if they don't want to lose the nutrients they gain from the sharks.

| No. I forgot the word for it, but it is a (something) relationship, where both organisms work together to make it easier for each other to live. It can eventually evolve to be that the organisms can't survive without each other, but it would usually probably be less extreme. The shark and the parasites, for example... The shark uses the parasites to lure food towards it. The parasite, being a parasite, feeds off of the shark. The shark loses its eyesight(usually), but it doesn't matter, due to the fact that it relies heavily on its sense of smell to get around the place. That is what I was attempting to get at. -Waap.

| You're thinking of mutualism, in which two organisms both benefit from their relationship with the other. It's one of the three types of symbiosis, the other two being parasitism and commensalism. | |

But yeah. With the actual question that Pezzalis wrote(Typed, actually. Probably.), you would have to either find different prey to mainly eat, OR migrate to a place where maybe the lizards have evolved differently. Oh, OR find something else there to eat, OR evolve to be able to eat them, although that would take alot of generations, and would be difficult to do successfully if you don't have a sufficient amount of prey you can eat nearby. -Waap.

| Guys! Everything you've saidhere will be covered by the AutoEvo mechanic. Until such a time as we can view that and how well it works, there needn''t be discussion like this. | |
