I hope that clears some things up for anyone who doesn't get it yet. Yes, but giving the player the ability to sense what they couldn't normally is just as unfair.
I suppose so. I guess it would make sense to filter the camera to look like you're seeing throught the organism's senses. We're already doing that, remember? any 1st person camera is subject to sensory dictated render methods, whereas 3rd person is not.

| Oh, well I thought that sensory organs affected 3rd person view, aswell. Then again, it may get a bit annoying, but couldn't it just be toggled on/off? -Waap.

We're already doing that, remember? any 1st person camera is subject to sensory dictated render methods, whereas 3rd person is not. I read that and thought: Wait, whaaaaa...? 3rd person should be affected, or the player could control an eyeless creature perfectly, meaning in a planet where only very simple senses are used, the player would have a HUGE advantage! 3rd person unaffected is ridiculous! Preposterous! And unfairly advantageous! Are you insane!? So, when did we decide 3rd person wasn't affected?

| Why would there be no sensory overlay in 3rd person? It would be just as easy, if not easier to use sensory views in this camera setting. And it would definitely make more sense to have the player see only what the organism can sense. | |

| Doesn't make sense...I don't have eyes and yet I can place camera points which basically give you eyes when you press a button, ta-da?
Sorry for bringing up Spore again, but it's almost worse than killing off 5 members of a pack to bring the whole species to extinction, to be honest.
Just my opinion. I understand this is a game but it's supposed to be realistic.

Toggle it. <consensus> How about, if the overlay gives you an advantage, you can toggle it. If it's a disadvantage (sonar), or mandatory you can't. And yes, I don't really know what I'm talking about. Sorry for late post.

Sorry for late post. Nah. Just let people toggle it. They can choose whether or not to challenge themselves.

I really don't believe that's fair, scio. Unless they are getting sore eyes or headaches or something, there is no reason the player should play without sensory view on. How can you just let the player see everything if their controlled organism can only sense vibrations?

I just want to let people play however they want. we might as well let them toggle this, because people will mod fr more freedom anyhow, so why not just save everyone some time and include it?

It can be "hidden away" somewhere though, so some people may not bother to go looking for it.

It can be "hidden away" somewhere though, so some people may not bother to go looking for it. it could be switched by one of those keys on the keyboard that no one ever bothers to click (i vote the insert key!)
