Achievement Brainstorming

Careful about becoming too out there with these. I don't want one of us to have to lock this due to it being a distraction. Not deleted of course, because there are a lot of good ideas in here, but at least temporary locking.

War is always the answer: Annex every other civiliztion on your planet

The Constant Gardener: evolve into a carnivorous plant (I pestered scio about it at the beginning of the OE, so it's supposedly possible.)
Whatever they offer you - Don't feed the plants! your species encounters a carnivorous plant. Should only be obtainable if you are of a size that stands any danger of falling in...
Throw yourself at the ground... and miss: Evolve gliding/primitive flight.
People in glass houses: Have over 40% of your nation/society's food resources be grown in greenhouses. (Have to have a look at the construction...)
Al Gore's pet Frog: Your species prompts/increases/speeds up the warming of their planet. (Anyone who had to see the documentary knows what I'm referring to.)
Compare Apples and Oranges: cross-breed two food resource crops to come up with a new crop all together
With Friends like These: when playing as a leader of some sort, your allies desert you.
The Mind-Killer: develop precognition
Full fathom five: dive into the ocean and return with a sessile marine animal. (An example would be an oyster...)
The Three Laws of Robotics: develop AI that actually passes the Turing Test.

Ripped apart: Get wiped out by an exosolar star's (a-star-that-isn't-your-sun's) gravitational field.

Overreacting: Start a world war over a minor upset (eg. Stealing a shoe, ripping a shopping list)

Homeworld's Prequel: Have your mighty interstellar empire be defeated in war, only a few exiles allowed to flee.

Taiidan's Story: Defeat a mighty interstellar empire in war, letting only a few exiles flee, then get defeated by their ancestors.

The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe: Witness the end of everything without dying.

Civilisation Turned Inside Out: Slowly get your citizens replaced by aliens, without knowing.

Befriend the member of the species. If a species has billions of members, it's not really possible to befriend them all.
