| How do you define what a war is?. How do you decide who won the war?
Most of the times, both (if not more) bands lose so much that you can't tell who won.

| And what if a conflict starts without diplomatic interaction? What if both sides just decide it is not worth fighting any more? What if you start a war, and a third party just wipes your enemy?
What if you find another civilization, which you cannot speak with, because of different languages, and so all diplomatic interaction is impossible?

Let us brainstorm achievements that could be put in the game.
Post: Title of Achievement How to get the Achievement Description--Optional
Example: Creator Create an animal in the Organism Editor
THIS IS THRIVE!!!!!!!!! punch another being down into a hole in org mode "You are a pirate!" have your sea faring "TO"s to plunder other nations sea faring "TO"'s and Harbours Burninator burn 10 entire planets

| Here's a some ideas I had.
Thomas Edison: Invent 100 inventions
Orly?: Kill a creature just as it was about to kill you.
Revenga; Kill off a species of animals that was once your predators.
War is the Answer; Take over a planet using a military type civilization.
FUUU!!; Die 200 times.
Not too good, but just some stuff that was in my mind for achievements.

Hammer Tyme In Society stage, learn metallurgy(or metalworking).
Tis merely a flesh wound In Aware, lose a limb, appendage, head, or other noodley tentacle in combat.
MY FLESH, IT BURNS! Get killed by magma/lava/fire or some other mildly irritating burning sensation.

Veni, Vidi, Vici Conquer a nation less technologically advanced than you
You have lost The Game Scroll down the achevements list until you find the 'You have lost The Game' achievement (this references The Game, in which the object of the game is to forget you are playing it. Could also be quite funny if someone gets it and thinks they've lost the entire game for a second until they see its description)
Why won't you work?!! Spend 15 uninterrupted minutes in the tech editor
Compared to you, me smart Kill a non-sapient creature as a pre-tribal sapient creature
42 Invent mathematics
The Grandfather Paradox Kill an organism two generations above you
Palaeontologist Fossilise something
But Still it Moves! Invent astronomy
Napoleon Complex Kill an organism larger than you

But Still it Moves! Invent astronomy Guys, enough with all of these research achievements. At this rate, the player will get an achievement for researching any Belgiuming tech. Achievements need to be rare and hard to get, hence the name " Achievement". There shouldn't even be any achievements for researching techs, and few for the other mundane tasks that were mentioned. Achievements should be for tasks that are out of the ordinary, like the "One City Challenge", in Civ V, which is a perfect example of an achievement. The most I would be willing to go for are a few achievements for doing something for the first time, such as using a certain editor for the first time (but not an achievement like that for all of them). And while I'm on the topic, I just thought of one, but I'm not sure if it has been mentioned. The name is up for change. "Darwinian" - Go the entire Aware Stage without using direct edits in the Organism Editor.

Kaminoan Create a sucesfull army made of clones
Geonosian Create a sucesfull army made of at least 3 types of droids.

Ridiculous Conversion Reach the space stage as a species that closely resembles humans. No, because they are achievements. I'm pretty sure the first one is impossible, since you need to assimilate either light eaters, heat eaters, or eaters, and gluers as well. Self-destroying or life-destroying? Self-destroying robots are not that harmful, except maybe to the investor who paid for them. How would you measure if a species closely resembles humans? It may be easy for us, but that is incredibly hard for a computer to identify.

How would you measure if a species closely resembles humans? It may be easy for us, but that is incredibly hard for a computer to identify. True, true, and true. It's the same situation from the multicellular-aware transition. I heard that your organism's traits would be taken and compared with a catalog of template organisms, but that sounds hard to program. However, if you folks can do that, then the last achievement won't be so hard to program. Meanwhile, I think we removed most of the in-game protocells to make them unlockable via probability when you enter the microbe editor. There aren't really that many protocells left, and gluers aren't one of them. However, it'd only take a few minutes or hours to go extinct, since you'll need quite a lot of energy efficiency as a multicellular organism, unless you find a way to live exclusively on amino acids. I meant self-destroying as in a robot whose sole purpose in life is to lower a rotating chainsaw upon itself, run purposeless electronics inside of itself so fast that it overheats and "dies", spray water on its non-waterproof areas, etc.

| About the catalogue thing, I'm not sure that is final concept, since it wasn't in the wiki. I've seen it discussed several times, but no clear consensus was reached. But even so, the last achievement would still be hard, because the template organisms would be basic, small, multicellular organisms, that would still be a long way from looking like humans. Even there was a template organism specifically made to look like a human for the computer to compare to, there are still so many countless variables and factors involved in the simple act of "resemblance" that it would not be possible to enter.
The new list changes the organelles more than the protocells. There is not really a defined list of the template cells that start the game with you. However, Mitochondrion, Chloroplasts, and Thermoplasts still require Endocytosis to be acquired (previously under the names eaters, light-eaters, and heat-eaters), and so that achievement would be impossible.

| Are we there yet?! have your species migrate over 10,000km
don't worry, there will be cake... build a hyper intelligent AI (equipped with neurotoxin? not sure if that needs to be included)
at least it couldn't get any worse! accidentally destroy your home planet/have aliens destroy your home planet
well... that was pointless... evolve a highly complex plant that isn't very efficient
tartigrades? finally a worthy opponent! evolve a creature to survive the vacume of space
well that escalated quickly... ally then declare war on a alien species after less than 1 year of meeting them
i don't want to live on this planet anymore evolve creatures that disprove evolution
YOU MONSTER! evolve a creature in constant pain
STOP BREAKING SCIENCE! invent machines that appear to break rules of science (ftl/warp drive, true renewable energy, etc.)
i think some might not be to good or will need editing, but the names/how you get it is still there for use!

Nonononono! I was referring to the same engine of the game looking at your organism in the multicellular stage compared to a variety of template organisms, not starting the multicellular as a human-looking organism! If we take the engine for choosing which template organism to use after comparing the 2D multicellular organism to them all, I was thinking we'd be able to do something non-change the organism for the next stage-y by looking at the organism the player has, and then seeing if it has similar features to humans (upright, spherical head, two arms, two legs, no tail). If most of these features are in the positive (so an invertebrate species with wormicles as arms and legs (only two of each) would still qualify, but a quadrapedal insect with a single eye and spikes along its shell would not), then the player gets the achievement.

No need to get your shorts in a knot. That was not what I implied or said. What I said was that even if we made a template as to what a human looks like, and the computer could compare to that, then it would still be grossly challenging for it to determine that. Also, now that you've changed it to simply resembling a basic humanoid structure, ie bipedal, no tail, upright, etc, then it would be understandably less intensive to determine. However, the CPU determining "close resemblance" to humans is not practical.

Creature Stage Achievements:
Hydra Create *and evolve 6 headed creature.
Cerberus Create *and evolve 3 headed creature.
Blindness is not a weakness Create *and evolve a creature without eyes.
*and - Create **or** evolve or both, not sure
Sorry if some already were suggested.

| Okay, I have some. if they don't seem like true achievements and more like gifts, just tell me.
Houston, we have a problem. Have a problem during space flight. (could be changed to "survive a problem during space flight".)
We're gonna need a bigger boat... Have a non-sapient aquatic creature destroy one of your aquatic vehicles.
1337 H4X0RZ: Invent computer hacking technology. (could be changed to "hack an enemies computer", though this would be hard to define in-game.)
Not exactly Grox... Find a mechanical alien race.
Breaker: Destroy 10 vehicles.
Destroyer: Destroy 50 vehicles.
Eliminator: Destroy 30 space vehicles. (or "destroy 100 vehicles)
Obliterator: Destroy 15 planets
Oh, by the way, Uteen? Was that a Pikmin 2 reference that I saw a couple of pages back? (the "King of Bugs" achievement.)
