Interview (Split from "Concept Video")

Sure, I'll be in the interview.
I finished the basic outline for the script for the voice over of the concept video that started the thread. Just popped in so you'd all know that I didn't forget it.

Beleieve me, I am of minimal importance now. I'm only a mod because I am a vet from the old forum. But if you insist.

You, scio, and a handful of others are our best data miners from the old forum, though. Plus, we could do a "history of thrive" section...
I can't believe how long we've been around. Well, not me specifically, but I've been hearing about it from scio for years now.

Spring 2009 was the start I believe...

Ah. Yup. I remember that - I might have been the first person to see scio's concept sketches for the OE. I was taking human anatomy at the time for my junior science - no doubt the original concept makes use of my notes.

Yeah, I can do some voice overs. I've been told I have a nice voice for it, but I personally believe that that's a lie. I'm pretty good at explaining game concepts though.

So what exactly will we be talking about in the interview, and how will it be structured?

I'll be happy to speak in the interview, but I'm not sure exactly what to say. Just set up a time and let me know what questions you'll ask and I'll be more than happy to do it. Keep me posted!

My financial situation right now is not so good, and there's not an electronics shop nearer than 40km here in the country, so no hope to even look at a microphone

What is your name and what are you contributing to the project?
[insert field specific questions here]
Can you elaborate around what you are doing?
What made you work on Thrive?
How do you see the project coming around?

etc. etc. Of course, field specific questions is going to cover a lot of time.

This is why I prefered not to be interviewed. I don't have any specific role. I am just one fo the people who had ideas bounced off of them, and would critique certain ideas. I know as much about the really techincal aspects as an ant does about photons. But I'll still answer if you want.

How do you plan on going about these interviews? Skype? Chat? What?

I would love to edit the video, put it all together.

If you can, go right ahead. I'll think up some scripts and things to add.

@ Possion: Perhaps you could do some background - say, a brief overview of the history of Thrive - as I seem to remember you being around way back at the first forum, when we were named after Sven.

You could also talk about the process of deciding which concepts are realistic and workable. Not that you have to, of course.

I can do the former. I think Red would be a better person to ask about the latter.

Better Idea- set it up as more of a podcast. One person can come up with questions, record them, and the others reply in their own recordings. The mediator must have a nice voice.

Basically, we can have a topic for the first podcast. Let's just say it's "What is Thrive?"

So, that first question goes out to all of the people answering. Next question leads to that. I suggest we write our own scripts in a thread. Basically, the mediator will post a question, the others will quote it and give their response. Then the mediator will start to ask more specific questions to only a few of the others at a time, or one at a time. It continues for a while until we think that we have a good length podcast.

Following podcasts could go over different things in detail, such as different modes, auto-evo, etc. We could also have fan question podcasts.

Once again, we need someone with a nice voice to be a presenter.
