We should find places that are relevant, I have a membership on RuneScape, but that would be one of the last places we should go. We don't want to make a MMO, a RPG, a java game, or a game with the general RuneScapey feel.

We need logic in our actions. At least as much logic as the amount in showing Spore we can make a free game that is better than theirs.

We need a battle plan. We need strategy. We may have madness in our method, but we need the method.

I propose someone makes a thread, and have something along the lines of the following, updated regularly:

Good places:

Spore - it is a game loosely based on evolution, and it inspired Thrive - covered

From Dust - it is a physics game, could be good when made, and our game will have features similar to that entire game - not covered!

I beleive we should be very selective on where to advertise to increase our chances more coding-apt people. Giving ideas is qutie easy for us all, but implementing them is a whole other business.

I know on a recent poll they made on bay12games forums (dwarf fortress) some 50% of the people there had informatics related job. Also a judge.

I agree with Scio on this one, money make things get tense and complicated... no need for funding. Yet anyways.

I know some of the people I know through the sims are somewhat familiar with coding, as a lot of them mod the game to an extent. Not that sims is a lot like Thrive - but the sims people are good at modeling objects.

I'll put up a link in my sig on the sims forums if anyone thinks it might help - we might snag bashi another assistant. If not, at least we can generate some interest.
